This is book seven in the "Jack Russell: Dog Detective" series. While on routine patrol, Jack uncovers a mystery. Unspecial biscuits, also known as human food, are being left around. Stick and Kick, two boys in the neighborhood, keep disappearing when Jack shows up. He wonders if there is a connection between the boys and the biscuits. He enlists the help of his friends. Jack's dog friends, however, get sick during the investigation. He must quickly discover who is leaving the food behind and why. This mystery is further complicated when the humans get involved and place Jack and his friends under house arrest. The dogs are being blamed for the thievery, but is it really the fault of one of Jack's friends? This book is peppered with Jack-isms, words designed by Jack. He also includes facts that he feels his readers must know. To further assist his readers, he provides nose maps of his discoveries. This is a wonderfully fun read that will appeal to all audiences. It is appropriate for either a personal purchase or a library purchase. Reviewer: Jennifer Mitchell
