Weldon's handbook is written as she speaks, in the style of friendly advice and instruction. The handbook is subdivided, easy to read, and with plenty of illustration. From pasties to fan making to courtesies backstage, the founder of the NY School of Burlesque is adept at making you feel comfortable and letting you in to the burlesque world. If you need to know what to do to get started, this handbook is for you. I ordered it because I'm organizing a vaudeville-style variety show at my local theatre and we're incorporating some themes and styles of burlesque. I have found this manual extremely helpful and informative.

I wasn't sure what to expect out of this handbook, but I'm glad I made this purchase. I enjoyed learning about the history of the book, and of course, the cool fan dancing. This will be useful in the future when I get ready to execute a change in my life.
