A sexy category romance novella from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

She’s the one fire he can’t put out…

Jamie Lansing has had it bad for firefighter Smith Grayson for as long as they’ve been friends. Yes, he’s ridiculously charming and she might stare a little too long at his abs, but his dirty-talking, rough-around-the-edges ways aren’t for her. Plus, she knows that as a serial dater, Smith isn’t the type to settle down. But then a terrible, fantastic, mind-blowing mistake leaves her body craving more than one night.

Smith Grayson has only ever had eyes for one woman in town—his best friend Jamie. But convincing her a relationship between them will work is next to impossible with her refusing to see beyond his past. But when she asks for a week of no-strings-attached sex to get him out of her system, Smith knows this is his one chance to prove he’s not just the man she needs in her bed, but the man she needs in her life.

I have read all of Lauren Blakely¿s books and I love all of them

I have read all of Lauren Blakely’s books and I love all of them. Her Novellas could be 35 pages or 135 pages and you still feel like you you got so much out of them. This is the 135 page one and it is scorching hot!

Jamie always had the hots for Smith but she knew he was not the serious type when it came to relationships. He was a friend she could talk to and bowl with but nothing more, she didn’t want to crash and burn if it didn’t work out.

Smith always thought there was something special about Jamie but he didn’t think he was her type. Her was rough around the edges and she liked poetry and candlelight. He never would have thought that he would find out that he could be wrong….

Jamie doesn’t want to lose their friendship but comes up with a solution that she has read in her novels that Smith can not decline. And he wants to prove to her that he is not who she really thinks he is.

Jamie and Smith are amazing! Did I mention Smith is Fireman and a Construction Worker? Holy Hotness times two! I love both of the characters and they prove that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. You might be a good girl on the outside but there just might be bad girl in there somewhere. You just have to discover her.

    Quotes:

She was organized, a planner, devoted to her to-do list, and he was fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants.

She didn’t want to risk her heart, but maybe there was a way to preserve it and satisfy these cravings.

“Take me so hard I’ll still feel it tomorrow.”

I hate to repeat myself but Lauren Blakely is awesome. She’s a writer goddess (is that such a thing?) Anyway, I have read all of her books and they are all great. Amazing even. This book has a little different feel and plot and it’s wonderful. It’s well written, funny, and hot with a smidge of angst; just the way I like it! Can you say Fireman/Construction worker/Last name as a first name = awesome!! Smith and Jamie have been friends for a while and have feeling for each other but she’s afraid he’s not romantic enough for her and he’s worried that he’s not good enough for you. His player reputation is stopping Jamie from even trying until one night he asks her to dance. That’s it, just a dance and everything changes. She let’s loose and he starts to fall. They are both afraid of getting hurt but she thinks a week together will be perfect for her and he agrees, but wants more. Can he show her that he’s the man she’s always wanted? Will she run at the first sign of trouble? You have to read it to find out! Do not miss this one!

He had a sinful combination of smolder and charm, with his close-cropped dark blond hair, strong jawline, and pure blue eyes. And his body, Just kill her with its perfection. A body like that should be outlawed.

Taking a one-way ride on the Smith train and then she’d get off it for good.

He was the very reason there were fireman calendars, and fireman erotica, and let’s face it, fireman fantasies.

Who does not love a Fireman? Let's face it, they usually are very protective, they are brave and courageous, and let's not forget... built like a brick wall HOT~

In Lauren Blakely's unique writing style, we now get a story of the a local fireman Smith, worth setting your kitchen on fire. The women in town all swarm around him every chance they get. He is charming in his own cocky way. And he has a reputation of being a player.

Our heroine, Jamie cannot help checking him out, although she knows they could never be a couple. Instead, they are good friends while holding back their mutual attraction.

As our story evolves, we are taken on a journey of "friends with benefits" which is the only solution Jamie can think of for getting rid of this attraction she has for Smith. She is determined not to fall for a player - she knows players do not stay loyal! But sex with this man is AWESOME SAUCE FANTASTIC! He has a dirty mouth that can take her through flights of fancy and unlimited virtual sex. As far as stamina is concerned, the man is nuclear! So what is a girl to do?

I love all of Lauren Blakely's novellas. This one in particular had me glued to the page until I finished it. Absolutely recommended with 5 scorching hot stars!

Grab yourself a cold drink ladies because this little novella is smoldering.  I think I might need to catch something on fire so Smith can come over and put it out.
Burn For Me is an angsty love story filled with passion and hope for more.  Jamie and Smith have always been good friends and even though she finds him sinfully sexy she is reluctant to act on those feelings.  Why?  Well because ever other woman in town feels the same way and how can she compete.  She is also afraid of losing Smith as a friend.  They have an easy banter and she looks forward to seeing him every day.  If they were to become more than friends and he walked away it would crush her.  What happens when Jamie gets this crazy idea in her head about a friends with benefits scenario that would only last one week.  Could it work?  Could she give into the attraction and get Smith out of her system?  Maybe.
Smith is crushed that Jamie only wants him for one week.  He has been waiting for the opportunity to become more than friends for quite a long time.  His jaw drops to the floor when Jamie makes him this crazy offer.  He knows he only has one week to show her he can and will be the only man she will ever need.
Lauren once again does an amazing job with character development and while this story is a novella it reads like a complete novel.  She is a master at not rushing the ending and that is what I love about all of her books.
If you find a dirty talking fireman to be sexy as sin you will find yourself in lust with Burn For Me.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Smith Grayson! Who doesn't love a sexy, dirty talking firefighter!

Jamie has had a crush on Smith since he moved to town a few years ago but since they are best friends she has never acted on it. He also is not her normal type. She usually dates the straight-laced, boring, clean cut guys instead of the sexy, alpha types. So instead, Jamie watches Smith from afar flirting with every girl in town. What she didn't know was that Smith secretly pined for her too! I loved their banter back and forth...too funny...and it somehow it always ends up with a sexual overtone!

They are both at The Panting Dog, the local bar where Jamie is the manager, celebrating the kickoff party for the town's Spring Festival. Smith asks Jamie to dance but she doesn't want to dance in front of people. He convinces her to go to the back room for a quick dance. Well that quick dance leads to a lot more and Jamie realizes that she is turned on by Smith's alpha ways and dirty talking. Smith is shocked that Jamie actually likes this since she is more the sweet girl who is into poetry and romance.

This was a great story of two people so different, but really a lot the same, who realize that they want to be together forever.

If you are looking for a fun, quick, sexy read...try this...you will not be sorry!

    Loved this short story

This is a short story, about 90 pgs. The characters are well developed and good story line. This is a very typical story from lauren blakely. A great love story.
Jamie works at a bar in the town she has grown up in. She is very envolved in her community too. Which is why her best friend is a guy named Smith. He helps at the fire dept and burn unit at the hospital and works as a contractor. Everyone loves him because he is good looking and gives his all to the town too. But the fire between them has only started. He wants a chance with her while she only wants friends with benifits. He wants to win her over and willing to do anything. Very good. Kristy dean

    Another Lauren Blakely Home Run!!

Well, hellllloo Smith! Smith is a hawt fireman with a reputation. But, that reputation isn't who Smith really is. You discover who Smith really is in this novella, what makes him tick, and how much of a sweetheart he really is. Jamie is his friend - the one he wants more of. An agreement is made. When urges are finally given into, feelings are finally shared, and everything is finally out in the open, can this bad fireman prove to his good girl that he's worth the chance? Find out in Burn for Me!

Lauren Blakely was my first Indie Author that I discovered after I got my nook (Caught Up in Me & Caught Up in Us). I became hooked on her writing style, her characters, her stories. My love for her continues in Burn for Me. Though this is a novella (about 98 pages), you still get the complete Lauren experience - hot characters, dramatic story lines, and a HAE.

In this short novella by Lauren Blakely, we meet the sinfully sexy fireman Smith Grayson. Smith and Jamie Langsley have been friends for awhile but things don’t actually ignite until now. As much as Jamie is attracted to Smith, she isn’t looking for another fling. She wants commitment and something to hold onto in the long run.

However, after one smoking hot night of indulgence, Smith wants more and suddenly all Jamie wants is no-commitment sex. While I liked Smith and his hot fireman ways, I got annoyed by Jamie’s constant changing of her mind. At the beginning, she wanted something serious and then now changed her mind – she wants some fun. Poor Smith has to deal with it all and to be honest, I think it was too much for such a short story. I lost a little respect for Jamie who didn’t know what she wanted and because of that, I think the romance faltered somewhat.

BURN FOR ME is a hot romp between the sheets. If you’re looking for a quickie, then this might be something for you.

    Just ok

    ## I liked this but didn't love it. It was a tad short, approx 95 pages. Smith was sweet but a bit of a serial dater, so it was difficult to see him with just one woman. And in a small town when you've dated all the other age appropriate women, I didn't blame Jamie for being cautious with him. Twice she saw him with an ex and assumed the worst. But can we blame her? With his history, not really. Pretty pedictable but the sex was hot. Not the best, not the worst.

    Kind boring

Nobody loves a good firefighter book quite like I do. the prospect that the guy is not only a firefighter but he has the hots for his best friend who is a chick? I was all jazzed up about this one and couldn't wait to rip right into it.

The two characters Jamie and Smith have been friends for years. They laugh together, they hang out together and they even work together. Jamie manages a successful restaurant/bar and although Smith is a firefighter by night he builds sh-- by day. You heard me right ladies! Get those fire extinguishers ready because Smith also owns his own construction company. (brief pause so you can put out the fire in your loins) With Smith working to remodel a section of the bar he gets to spend a significant amount of time with Jamie on a daily basis and the spark that's always been between them ignites and yada yada.

Friends to lovers YAY! I love this kind of story where two friends finally realize they have something real and special and decide to go for it. Jamie was a little bit of a boner killer though because she went all hot and cold most of the time. She's a strong girl, independent, works hard, takes zero crap from people and she's known Smith a long time so she has the inside scoop on his dating habits. Which by the way lean towards the Ron Jeremy spectrum. Almost every vagina in town knows Smith Jr so I could understand Jamie's hesitancy in thinking Smith doesn't have it in him to stay with any one woman. She got on my nerves a little bit but I didn't want to bludgeon her A' La Walking Dead style.

Smith. He's a firefighters ladies!!! And... and... and He wears a tool belt and... and... and ALSO he um... you know, he's hot! He's funny and charming and sexy. *vagina speaks up and says "Oh My"* He's the trifecta of male awesome sauce. As if all that weren't enough he also poses for a fireman's calendar and the proceeds go to the local children's burn unit. {Insert dreamy sigh here}. Yes, Smith is a great guy and I loved him. He's been a bit of a tramp but I like that he put Jamie in her place about it saying when he was dating one person, he was all in with that person. I liked Smith's personality and his determination to prove to Jamie that he was serious in wanting to take their friendship to another level.

Two best friends falling in love? YAY! Best book everrrrr. Well... almost. I have to say there something missing in this story for me. True Jamie and Smith heat things up after a hot night in a storage closet wakes them up to their chemistry but I just needed a little bit more story. I felt as if I was told more about how they came to be than experiencing it for myself. Yes I already loved the idea of them but I think because Jamie spent so much time putting Smith off because of his past relationships and not to mention her sisters busted marriage weighing heavy on her mind (Zzz) there wasn't enough time focused on them together. THAT'S what I needed. A little bit more of these two together instead of all the push & pull. I did enjoy..ish this story buuuut I didn't fall in love with it. Smith and Jamie were great but a little bit more time together could have made the difference for me. This was quick read with a great couple that would be a great way to kill a few hours.

    Rocky Ride

This was a rocky ride but in a good way. Both were in love with each other but were afraid to admit it to themselves let alone each other and how they grew to finally admit that they were afraid to take the chance because they didn't want to loose each other. I am hoping for more of these guys especially since her girlfriend is coming home and she is trying to hook beckett up with her....

Smith is a serial playboy who is friends with Jamie a bar manager. They hang out every week at bowling and are tracked to each other but "not going" there. Smith decides he wants more and starts to pursue Jamie...

This is a hot novella that shows why friends to lovers is such a great storyline in romance novels. The chemistry between the main characters is sexy and yet very sweet at times. Each characters has a support network and realistic fears about changing relationships. I enjoyed Smith a lot and found Jamie funny but strong.
