Another fantastic book by Helen Hardt! I seriously could not put Burn down just as I wasn't able to with the previous books in the Steel Brothers series! And that cliffhanger....I went to swipe to the left and saw I have to wait till May to sit on the edge of my seat again for the 6th book - Surrender!! Seriously though - awesome writing and intriguing characters!!

A continuation book from the The Steel Brothers Saga. I loved this book. It is sweet, emotional and gut wrenching book to read. There are scenes that are too emotional to read. It is suspense. I loved reading this extra ordinary love story of Jonah and Melanie. There are topics that are scary but an eye-opening especially when you have kids. Though this is a series, you can read it alone. It is easy to catch up from the previous series.

Burn By: Helen Hardt 5 Star Review by Kristie K Helen Hardt has done it again, a true master in the art of romantic suspense, she has completely surpassed herself with Burn… Jonah Steel is determined to uncover the mysteries surrounding his family, while also uncovering the delectable secrets hidden under the demure sweater sets of Dr. Melanie Carmichael. The stunning woman has Joe by the balls, and he can’t find it within himself to mind…nope, not one little bit. When something from her past comes back to haunt her, Jonah won’t rest until he knows she is safe. Melanie Carmichael has dedicated her life to helping others overcome the traumas of their past. Her work with the Steel family brought her face to face with Jonah Steel, the one man she can’t say no to. As her relationship with Jonah grows hotter, Melanie loses her heart to the masculine and ruggedly gorgeous Steel brother. Even as she helps to uncover the truth behind their haunted past, a nightmare from her own resurfaces. Melanie is left feeling frightened and vulnerable, and as Jonah vows to keep her safe, Melanie falls even deeper in love with her handsome rancher. But, as more secrets are revealed, and more questions arise, can their love survive? Holy cliffhanger! Ms. Hardt has left me reeling yet again, with another humongous book hangover, and the distinct desire to crawl into her big brain and get ALL THE ANSWERS!! While Burn comes through with answers, it brings to light even more questions about the Steel family and the skeletons in their closet. The web of deceit, lies, and treachery continues to grow with each new reveal. The casualties continue, with devastation hitting those close to the family as well as the family themselves. With every installment in the series, Ms. Hardt drags you further and further into her labyrinth of dark secrets, hidden atrocities, and lost innocence. Every chapter demanded I read another, until I reached the end and there was no more to be had. The plot and storyline continue to be meticulously planned, weaving a story so complex and suspenseful that I am left breathless. I honestly don’t know how Ms. Hardt keeps it all straight! The writing is flawless, well done and easy to read. Burn keeps you hooked from beginning to end, and beyond. The character development is incredible, each one complex and distinct. Each character their own person, and each one completely real and relatable. I fall more and more in love with this series with each new release. I am already twitching for my next fix… I am an addict, and Helen Hardt is my dealer. Kristie K

Burn is Book #5 in The Steel Brothers Saga. I would recommend reading the books in order; Craving, Obsession, Possession, Melt and then Burn. The first three books in the series follow Jade and Talon, while Melt starts the relationship between Jonah, the oldest brother, and Melanie who is Jonah and Talon's Therapist. Burn continues with Jonah and Melanie's story. Melanie and Jonah continue to feel drawn to one another, spending more time together at his house. Melanie finds herself in an embarrassing situation while at at Jonah's house and decides to leave without being noticed. Jonah is extremely angry at Melanie once he realizes what she did. Because of hurt feelings, Jonah doesn't answer a telephone call from Melanie; a decision he will continue to regret. Some answers we've been looking for are revealed; while more questions keep us trying to figure out the mystery that is the Steel family. Jonah will do anything to protect the ones he loves, and that now includes Melanie. Due to certain situations, Melanie gains some clarity and starts to question her role in a patients recovery. Could the struggles that Melanie has faced with that patient somehow be tied to the Steel family?!? Jonah will stop at nothing to find answers that will help them all. The cliffhangers are awesome and this series is worth the investment. If you like a hot, steamy romance with mystery and a suspenseful “who done it” that keeps you wanting more, don't miss out! Helen does not disappoint!

I couldn't wait to read this after the cliffhanger at the end of Melt! The story continues with Jonah and Melanie trying to figure out what happened with Talon. No spoilers! Just know that you can't read these as standalones. You have to read 1-4 first, starting with Craving as these flow one into the other. Each one keeps taking over the last as my favorite of the series!
