Meet the Author

Michael Janda has been in most positions on the graphic design world org chart over his 16-year career. He has served as production artist, designer, freelancer, and creative director (including a few years as senior creative director over two of Fox’s Internet divisions). Since 2002, Janda has owned and operated his own agency, Riser, which boasts such high-profile clients as NBC, ABC, Fox, Google, National Geographic, Warner Bros., and Disney.

    This book is one of the best, accurate & most transparent book about what being successful means in the design industry. Being a person that has worked for a few big name agencies and now have set out to create my own design firm, this book became a blue print of many of the issues I have faced so far. Michael gives great advice & even copy-&-paste opportunities to help be more professional towards clients & business as a whole. Whether you are a student who is considering going into this industry or an established designer wanting to scale upwards personally & in business, this will be the best $30 you'll invest in giving yourself a roadmap.
