Overview

A woman with a dark past...

Forced into hiding after her NSA-sanctioned task force lands on a terrorist cell’s hit list, cryptologist Zahra Gill must rely on the skill and experience of her ex-Special Ops Titanium Security teammates to keep her safe—including former Force Recon Marine Sean Dunphy. The impossibly sexy man has the unnerving ability to shatter her concentration by simply walking into the same room. Even though she’s sworn to keep him at a distance, his charm and protectiveness weaken her resistance. Drawn to his strength and magnetic sensuality, she finally gives in to the passion she’s denied herself for so long...even though she knows she might lose her heart in the process.

The man strong enough to win her trust...

Sean’s had his eye on the guarded, proud analyst from the first day they met. He knows she’s hiding something from him, but nothing could have prepared him for the shocking truth of her past. When a targeted attack brutally exposes Zahra’s dark secrets, Sean will do everything in his power to protect the woman he’s fallen for. Unfortunately the cell hunting them has powerful connections and their enemy is closer than they ever imagined.

Burned is well written romantic suspense. This is Book 3 in the Titanium Security Series and features Sean (an ex Force Recon Marine) and Zhara (an NSA analyst). This book can be read stand-alone from the other books in the series. I really enjoyed the way these characters came together. Zhara has been targeted as the “weakest link” and a way for terrorists to get to the Titanium Security Team. She is anything but weak though. She has faced some serious adversity up to this point and has come out a much stronger person for it. Sean is a fun-loving prankster, who can take it was well as he can dish it out. Along with the danger there is some pretty steamy action between Sean and Zhara. I really like this series and will for such buy the next book.

Burned is the 3rd book in Kaylea Cross¿s series Titanium Securit

Burned is the 3rd book in Kaylea Cross’s series Titanium Security. It is the continuing story of the guys from Titanium Security and their Taskforce Teammates from the NSA and FBI as they fight against terrorist threats. The main characters in this edition are Zarah Gill, an NSA cryptologist with a shocking past and Sean Dunphy, a former Force Recon Marine and an employee of Titanium Security. When Zarah finds herself the target of a maniac terrorist, Sean swears to do whatever it takes to protect her.
Once again, Cross takes her readers on a journey of combat, camaraderie, family, solidarity and romance. Her characters are well thought out and can range from the fierce warrior to the snickering joker that we see in Sean to the wounded, guarded Zarah.
As Sean and Zarah fight to save themselves the reader is taken through twists and turns and action and reaction…….and the hook is that it is all relevant. There is no part of their story that I found myself saying “oh that would never happen” because we all know it could!
As with her last book in this series, Signed, my only complaint is that it was just too short. As I got to know these two characters, I wanted more of them. I loved the action parts of this story but I wanted more; I loved, loved, loved the romance but I wanted more.
Kaylea Cross does a great job of drawing the reader in and letting them really get to know her characters, even the secondary characters. The storyline itself was well written and captivating. For fans of Romantic Suspense, especially Military Romantic Suspense, this is the book for you. For that matter, any of Kaylea Cross’s books are the books for you.

Loved this story.  I will admit it did take me a little while to get in to the story, but that was probably just me.  I really enjoyed the storyline between the H/h, for such a strong alpha type, he sure had a soft side when it came to her.
I am so very much looking forward to this series continuing.  Ms. Cross set up some future stories beautifully with this story.
