Overview

It takes a special kind of hero to be a smoke jumper. To take the greatest risks. To live or die in the raging heat of the moment. And it takes a special kind of woman to love him. . .

Where There's Smoke. . .

For Jack Donovan, smoke jumping is a way of life. He lives for the adrenaline rush--the thrill of flying over the burning California hills, the intensity of diving straight into the inferno, the glory of taming the forces of nature. Love is a distant ember compared to the feeling he gets fighting fires--until an emergency call from his hometown brings him face to face with the one woman he can't forget. . .

There's Fire

Lily never got over the handsome rogue who once kissed her senseless--and then left. She vowed she was done with love-'em-and-leave-'em men and small town life. Until a series of malicious fires set by a stalker has her running home to hide. Now, their summer is heating up as Jack fights to save her from the stalker's fiery threats and to convince her to give the passion between them a second chance.

    I Also Recommend:

    A very explosive story!

Thanks to the publisher, Kensington, and NetGalley for the chance to read this early!

This story quickly caught my attention and took off at a sprint. It is the first in a new series about smoke-jumper firefighters. If the rest are even half as good as this one, then Ms. Marsh has a winning series on her hands. Well written, intense, and full of suspense, this story was on FIRE (pun intended).

I’m not sure which I enjoyed most the romance, action or suspense. I found myself racing through the book trying to discover the stalker/serial arsonist was. The story was seriously intense up all the way through - I thought this was a fantastic read.

This is the third series by this author I have read & enjoyed! I look forward to MANY more books written by her! She seems to have a series for everyone (A) Fallen, for her Paranormal readers; (B) Dawson Brothers, for her western readers, & this one for her suspense readers.

Disclosure: This ebook was provided to me free of charge through NetGalley for the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments, and ratings are my own.

    Irritating dialog

The story was pretty good, but the main character's habit of saying "baby" in darn near every sentence really bugged me. Very annoying, as if he couldn't complete a single expression without calling her "baby." I skimmed large chunks of the story in parts where the dialog took up way too much space without actually advancing the story.

    more from this reviewer

I liked this book a lot but the next ones in the series are bett

I liked this book a lot but the next ones in the series are better. Each book stands alone – no cliffhanger.

This was the first book I’ve read by Anne Marsh and I did enjoy it but I must admit that it took me longer than normal to finish it. I’m not sure why it didn’t grab me right away. It could be that it was the timing of when I read it (it was Thanksgiving week) but I think it just was a bit slow at the beginning for me. Once I got a little further into the book I really liked it.

While each book stands alone (I’ve read 1, 2 and I’m part way through #3) this book gives you the most background on the three Donovan brothers. The brothers are Smoke Jumpers who own their own company and are in great demand during the summer months when fire season is at its peak.

This book is Jack’s story, next is Evan’s and then Rio’s. If you like to read your series in order you might want to start with this one. There is danger, conflict, suspense and, of course romance and hot, sexy times.

If you like reading about hot, sexy fireman and their families you should really enjoy this book.

I was not compensated in any way (no ARC received) for this review.

Skipped as many pages as I read

If the author would have spent as much time developing the story as writing sex scenes, this could have been a good book. The story line certainly had good potential but in nearly every chapter, I skipped over pages and pages of sex scenes beecause if you read the first one then the rest were same. Boring.

    Ridiculous

Story was very predictable and where the writer could have made it interesting, she failed terribly. Sex scenes were ridiculous and if he calls her "Baby" one more time, I'll vomit. Very immature and disappointing. I won't read anything by this author again.
