Meet the Author

A professional technical writer, Anne discovered that getting laid off was actually A Very Good Thing. While looking for her next writing gig, she picked up her pen (well, okay, she used her writing as an excuse to buy a new Apple laptop) and started writing. She soon discovered that writing was uncomfortably similar to sit-ups: add a few more crunches each day, wake up sore, but, by God, you will fit into that bikini. Or finish the book (she’s still working on the bikini). Now she cranks out software manuals during the daylight hours– and writes about alpha shapeshifters the rest of the time.

Enjoyed this third installment of the Smoke Jumpers.

The chemistry between Rio and Gia was hot from the first page.  It was refreshing to see a woman jumper joining the ranks of Donovan
Brothers.  This book was a little different from the first two, i thought, and to see computer savvy Rio's previous training and experience
burst onto the pages, was great!  Definitely worth picking up.

Would like to see the other supporting characters developed into their own story; Nonna and Ben, Mack, Joey, etc.

Read previous books in series and loved them and authors style of writing.
Like that book not all about smoke jumping. There is another dangerous part to
    the story.
Good strong characters and story. Beginning is gripping. Background to other
characters means you can read this book in isolation.
Thoroughly enjoyed rio not so much gia whose stubborness was dangerous.
Would have been 5* if not for typos and discrepancy.

    BOOK SYNOPSIS

ONE JUMP PUTS IT ALL ON THE LINE…
Summer is heating up in Strong, California. The jump team’s bad boy, Rio Donovan is one hundred percent pure, sensual trouble. He never backs down from a fire or a dare and he loves putting it all on the line when he parachutes into the heart of the fire. When the fire camp gets a much-needed new player, however, Rio lands in uncharted territory. The jump team’s newest member is sexy, strong—and female. She’s supposed to be just one of the boys, but Rio burns to claim her one heated kiss at a time. This jump, Rio Donovan’s putting it all on the line. Body and heart.

INTO THE FIRE… AND INTO LOVE
Kissing a fellow smoke jumper would be career suicide and Gia Jackson has worked too hard and too long to earn her spot on Strong’s jump team to jeopardize it all now for a man. The love-em-and-leave-em boys of summer aren’t her type and she’s hiding a few secrets of her own, but, when her chute tangles with Rio’s on a jump, he’s thrown into her arms. Literally. She’s held firm on the fireline for years—but can she hold the line now against Rio’s seductive charm?

    My Thoughts

Evan, Jack and Rio Donovan are brothers by choice and each one of these alpha male adrenaline junkies lead life to the fullest. Currently as the owners and driving force behind a top team of Smoke Jumpers these bad boy firefighters live in Strong California and let us just say that life never gets boring for these three whether it be while out at the fire camp training, jumping from the belly of a plane into the landing zone of a wildfire or hanging out at the local bar unwinding with friends.

Rio has long had the reputation of love-em and leave-em but much to his surprise that all changes once he finds out just how hot Gia Jackson makes him burn, both in bed and out!

Gia Jackson is a new member of the Donovan jump team, her aim in life is to live it to the fullest as for years her secret medical condition has made her very aware that living safely is not very fulfilling to her.

Starting out with the jump team being deployed to a wildfire and having Rio end up being saved by Gia when his parachute fails to open will start your heart pumping and as the story progresses the adrenaline really never subsides as we follow the pair from adventure to adventure.

Rio's tale upped the stakes and changed the game, brothers by choice not by blood but Evan Jack and Rio are bonded in ways that make them a family force to be proud of. Strong California once again was an action packed place to visit, especially now that Gia has made an honest man out of playboy Rio.

As with each of the books featuring the heroic firefighter characters that Anne Marsh so lovingly creates for us my admiration and respect for the work that they do increases, as does my enjoyment with each new romantic pairing!

Looking forward to more in the series !

Burns So Bad is the 3rd book in the Smoke Jumpers series.I loved the other books in this series and this one was no different for me. Once I started it I couldn't put it down until the end. There was something going on from start to finish that just has you turning the pages until the end. From the hot chemistry between Rio and Gia to the action in the book. I would highly recommend reading this book and long with the other smoke jumpers books. I love Anne Marsh's book and can't wait for more.

Woohoo! Another scorcher from Anne Marsh! Her heroes just keep getting better and better.
Rio Donovan and Gia Jackson are both smokejumpers and the chemistry between the two is hot!
This is another fabulous book by Anne that is one of those that is hard to put down.
The chemistry between the two characters is overwhelmingly hot and the story is unpredictable and keeps the reader intrigued.

Let me start off by saying WOW! This is the first time I've read about fire jumpers and Anne Marsh made it memorable for me. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and had a difficult time putting it down. Rio Donovan is delicious! I could not have imagined a better match for Rio than Gia Jackson. The chemistry between them was off the charts! The fire jumping was exhilarating! The
adrenaline rush from the excitement and danger was amazing. Pair all that with a great story line and you get an awesome 5-Star review from this very happy reader. I can't wait to read more about these amazing, sexy fire jumpers! Thank you Anne Marsh for introducing me to a whole other kind of man in a uniform. Awesome!

Burns so bad is a good read. You enter the story from the first page and the characters are realistic. I like the way you get to know the characters bit by bit. Just a bit of background information woven into the story all the time, so you keep reading without wanting to skip a few pages because they are not important to the story line. Besides, the things you get to know about Rio and Gia are interesting, but they are not too detailed. Just enough to give a general idea of their past. They are both strong and independent people. Although Rio is bossy, he manages to find a way to let Gia keep her independence.
You feel the tension between Rio and Gia from the start, although the first time that Gia invites Rio to sleep with her in her truck is too sudden and not very logical. The way they handle this and how their relationship develops afterwards, however, is ok. I like the way the other characters are there but they don’t play a areal part in the story.
I like the way you see the story from the main characters point of view. You know what they are thinking this way and it helps to understand them.
The fire and the problems with the growers make the story more exciting, but the books stays primarily a romance. They force Gia and Rio to spend time together and they make the couple realise what they mean to each other.
Although I liked the story, I think their romance developed a bit too quickly to be believable, especially when taking into account that Rio is not relationship material and Gia wants to hold on to her independence at all costs. .

    Smoldering Hot

I could not put this book down! Ms. Marsh is one of my favorite authors ever. Badass Rio is smoldering hot and has met his match. I love that plotline. I love how strong and independent Gia is--she has to be to be on the team. Even with her flaws physical and mental (bc every character has to have them) she surpasses them making her a complete badass woman who I'd never want to cross. The book has just the right amount of vulnerability.

Also something I really enjoy is the creativity and artistic writing style--which made it very easy to picture and you can easily feel the emotions of each scene.

Great book, flowed well loved it. Also I really love the cover. It looks awesome on my bookshelf and will be one of my books I read over and over again.

Can't wait for the next one Ms. Marsh!

    Only for Rio

I could not stand Gia. She started out fine but slowly started to annoy me. The only reason why I finished this and gave it 3 stars was because of Rio.

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿¿ Smoke jumper on the Donovan Broth

    My Rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿¿

Smoke jumper on the Donovan Brother's jump Team, Rio Donovan has a reputation of a love them and leave them kinda guy. His two brothers already solidly committed in loving relationships, Rio couldn't see himself going down that risky path. Normally one to face any challenge, give him a raging forest fire and he would be front of the line to jump out of the plane, anything long term when it comes to relationships seemed too much of a hassle. That is, until his new jump partner showed up earlier in the summer.

Her second summer jumping, but first time with the Jordan Brother's team, Gia Jackson put her heart and soul in her work. She was determined not to let the fact she was female distract from the fact that  she could perform as well as any other guy out there and despite her family's concerns about her health, she was managing just fine. If only she could stop herself from being too distracted by her boss and jump partner. But when she ends up with Rio in her arms on one jump that almost goes horribly wrong, all bets are off.

Celebrating the successful conclusion of what could have been a disastrous call, Gia and Rio find themselves high on life and a bit of alcohol, kissing outside Gia's door. One taste turns out to be not enough for either, and despite concerns around mixing professional and personal involvement, keeping their hands off each other turns out to be impossible.

When during a jump, Rio and Gia are first down, trying to get out of the way of the fire, they bump into some illegal activities on the mountain, they are now not only chased by the fire, but by criminals as well. Their precarious situation as well as the discovery of a secret Gia had kept to herself, has brought out every protective instinct Rio possesses. He will do everything to keep what is his safe....

A smoking hot jumper and a kick-ass heroine!!!!

Anne Marsh knows what she is doing!! Another excellent novel, opening with a great first chapter, already high on the thrill scale, to pull you right into the story and the personalities of the characters.

This is the third book in the Smoke Jumpers Series, but can be read as a standalone novel. Of course it is always helpful if you have had a chance to read the previous books, simply because some if not all of the characters re-appear. You will, however, not miss any significant details of this story should you have missed them.

With a less than perfect childhood lived on the streets, and working special ops for Uncle Sam, Rio is by no means a choirboy, but he is a decent man at the core. Loyal to his foster mother and his brothers and a with sense of responsibility a mile long, gives everything his full 100%. He never expected himself to fall hard like his brothers had, but when he did, he did so with everything he had.

A little more hesitant in her approach, Gia prefers to keep some emotional distance. She already has her family all up in her business and had to remove herself from them in order to make her own decisions in life. Her condition also brings with it some insecurity and so control, any control, she will hang onto. But hanging onto your heart to avoid someone else maybe breaking it, only lasts so long.

Fantastic balance between suspense and hot romance, keeping you on the edge of your seat for more than just one reason! Luscious, sexy chemistry between a strong, highly capable but cautious heroine and a fierce, protective and territorial hero.

¿A fiery, enticing and potent story of circling the fires.¿

Continuation of the Donovan brothers. Rio Donovan the strong, love ‘em leave ‘em hottie falls for new jumper.

The first female on team, Gia Johnson, doesn’t want to risk her position with the jump team by getting involved with Rio. This was an easy, light read with some hot chemistry. A couple of interesting character twists with Gia and lots of hot views of Rio. I would have liked to see a few more chapters but I’m hoping the story of Rio and Gia will be included in a future book. Great story!
