His tranquility is shattered when Diane, David Baxter's daughter, arrives to search for her long-lost father. Her quest threatens his wealth and his liberty. At first he just observes, until she and a young Ashford lawyer begin to uncover details about David Baxter and the courthouse fires; then he decides to act.

DAN STEVENS is no stranger to northern Michigan, the setting for BURNT RECORDS. He grew up and graduated from high school in Montmorency County and returned there for another fifteen years as a lawyer and businessman. He also represented the area in the Michigan Legislature for two terms. Later he served as a policy coordinator for the Florida Governor and was the County Attorney for Hendry County, Florida, over a thirteen year period. He and his wife Sarah now split their time between Atlanta, Michigan, and Tallahassee, Florida.
Mr. Stevens earned B.S. and M.A. degrees from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor from T.M. Cooley Law School.
BURNT RECORDS is his first novel.
