What a delightful mystery! This is the first novel by Chris Well I have read – I will certainly read more. The two main characters are older, so the story is definitely aimed at “seniors.” The plot and snappy dialogue, however, would be found rewarding to any mystery lover.

Christians Read

I enjoyed this well-paced mystery. I had no idea who-dun-it until the end. In addition, it includes a senior citizen romance and, in the background, a college romance. The characters realistically walk across the pages, and the reader likes them: well worth reading.

The Christian Manifesto

I am really enjoying this series. While Burying The Hatchet features the same characters, it’s quite different in terms of the type of mystery as well as the methods for solving the crime. It has a nice classic mystery feel, which makes it a joy to read. My main complaint is at only 256 pages, it’s short. Before I knew it, the story was over. Then again, that could be a compliment. Since I couldn’t put it down, I easily finished it in two days. I’m looking forward to the third book in the series in which the truth about Earl’s injury is finally revealed. I can’t wait!

    An Acquired Taste

    This book is a bit hard for me to review. Generally, I inhale books but I really had a rough time getting into this one. After I was about halfway through, though, I just couldn't put it down. That's when I remembered that the same thing happened in the last Hometown Mystery book I read. So I thought it through, the books are a bit dry and sort-of remind me of a Poirot or Columbo episode/novel where you're wondering why on earth you keep watching/reading and then suddenly wondering when the next one starts.
