Can you take a bus to paradise? Probably not, because "this undiscovered territory has no common destination." Leo Buscaglia explores the premise that "life is paradise for those who love many things with a passion." The inspiration for this book came from Leo's syndicated newspaper column where many of these topics were first explored.

The internationally respected author and lecturer shares his belief that life is a paradise for those who love many things with a passion.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
The author writes in his familiar, zesty fashion in this successor to Loving Each Other and his previous bestsellers. Here the title describes a bus Buscaglia observed, prompting him to speculate on the diverse views of paradise envisioned by hopeful individuals. According to him, ``the more passionately we love many things, the closer we come to living our paradise NOW.'' The text contains examples of love's blessings in numerous situations. While Buscaglia admits it's not easy to be scorned as silly or naive, he insists that people must trust in loving passionately, answering cynics with the assurance tht life is wonderful, joy is our birthright. Among the subjects covered are love as a factor in relations with plants and animals, dealing with persons who betray us, maintaining dignity and self-respect, savoring food, creating a better world. 350,000 first printing; $200,000 ad/promo. Library Journal
At a suburban bus stop in Melbourne, Buscaglia noted the designation ``Bus 9 to Paradise.'' He uses the phrase to suggest that while we cannot find an actual Paradise on earth, life can be paradise for those who live it with a passion. The topics in this collection of short, unconnected pieces (most published originally in newspaper syndication) include food, animals, learning, change. Buscaglia recounts personal experiences and encourages readers to find happiness through developing passions of their own. It's hard to criticize the Love Doctor without sounding like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, but this is a dull book. Buscaglia's charm as a speaker does not come across in his books, and what he has to say we've heard before. Still, he has followers who'll read anything he writes, so most popular collections will want to purchase this. Margaret B. Allen, M.L.S, West Lebanon, N.H.
