Children's Literature - Vicki FooteBeginning readers learn facts about buses in this nonfiction text in the "Bookworms" "We Go!" series. This leveled reading program is designed to reinforce the skills of emergent, early, and fluent readers. This text is on the emergent reading level, and each page contains a short sentence with a photograph on the opposite page. Sentences of mostly three and four words tell how a bus has wheels, doors, steps, and drivers. Next are sentences about how buses take us on trips, to camp, and to school. In a "Words to Know" section, there are photos and key words that were used throughout the text. An index and information about the author is included. The photos will help readers identify some of the vocabulary. For simple information for the beginning reader and for practice reading short, declarative sentences, this text is a good resource.
