I have read this book so many times to my grandson. My own sons loved it too.

Bought this book for 2 of my grandson's this Christmas. They love the book as I also love reading it to them. I wanted them to have this book to read to their kids and grandkids. As they grew older I would pause while reading at the appropriate time and they would respond - "but no elephants" just like their parents did when I read it to them. While helping with Christmas tree ornaments one year, one grandson came across a Mrs. Claus stuffed face ornament with glasses and said "Grandma Tildy!" To my surprise, sure enough it did look like Grandma Tildy. A book to be cherished.

I was delighted to find this book online. My children and I have fond memories of " No Elephants" bedtime stories --30 years ago. I now bought this book for my first grandchild and cannot wait to be reading this cute story to him ! I am sure I have the orginial somewhere but my daughter was so happy to receive a new copy this beloved story at her baby shower.

I have been looking for this book for years (I used to read it when I was young and still have the hardback edition -- although it is quite worn and lovingly used). It had been out of print for quite some time, and now I am happy to find that it's back and just as great as always! I recently ordered this book and read it to my daughter (she is three years old) as soon as I had it out of the box! She loved the story -- which in turn made me especially happy since I too loved the story when I was a child. I am happy to pass along this book for her to enjoy!

This was my favorite book as a child (I am 28 now). I have been looking for this book to share with my nieces and 12 year old brother. I always remember how what seemed to be a bad idea (who takes in an elephant), became the best decision grandma ever made!

He never let us skip pages or lines. Now that he is having his own son, it will be the first book Grandma buys him

This is my favorite book from when I was little. My grandma read it to me and her 5 other grandchildren every night that we stayed with her. I am getting a copy of this book for everyone in my family to share with their families. We are all grown up now and we still bring out this book every time that we get together!

This was my sisters favorite book as a child. I had to lay quietly, listening as my Mom read this to us, waiting for her to read my favorite book- (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) but I grew to love it!! I buy this for all my nieces and nephews and my friends babies... and I can't wait to read it to my little one.

I have read this book many times as a child. Stories aren't written like this anymore. I enjoy this book a great deal and intend on reading it to my children as well

My 22mth old is facinated by this story. It is a fun loving story about a Grandma, her pet collection and how they help one another.Great introductory vocabulary and patterning for young children to follow. One of my favorite stories as a child has now captured my sons heart over 20 years later.

This was the very first book my daughter could read all by herself. We gave her copy to a favorite cousin years ago. Now my daughter is graduating from college, it will make a very special gift.

I used to read this one every time I went into my pediatrician's office. Now that I have my own children, I want to share this engaging story with them. (Also, Old Tildy reminds me of my own Gran -- tough as nails with a great heart.)

I am an 8th grader now. When I was little I loved this book. Today I still love this book. I am doing a book report for my literature class on it.

I just have to say that this was my favorite book when I was little. My mother used to hide it so she wouldn't have to read it to me. I still pull it off the shelf and look at it! I really recommend this book to all parents.
