Now, embracing her sobriety and hoping to finaly break the cycle of her family horrors, she's publishing the poems she wrote to get through the days. Poems about abuse, trauma, addiction, recovery, love, heartbreak and other subjects.

These days she is an recovering addict, a loving mother, and an everyday fighting beautiful soul. Who understands that dark days come with silver linings. It's when she writes, that truly then, she can fly away.

About the Author

I, Stephanie Haveman, am a 36-year-old poet who has found solace in the charming town of Willemstad, The Netherlands. The scenic harbor and fortified city walls have become my sanctuary. My journey has been one of perseverance, as I overcame challenges from distant lands to arrive where I stand today.



Alongside my writing, I find joy and inspiration in various hobbies. Watching movies allows me to immerse myself in different worlds, while attending theaters brings the magic of live performances into my life. Crafting provides a creative outlet, where I pour my emotions into tangible creations. And, of course, traveling fuels my soul, exposing me to diverse cultures and perspectives that enrich my writing.



As a mother of a teenage son, I cherish the role of nurturing and guiding him through life’s ups and downs. Parenthood has added depth and meaning to my poetic expressions, as I draw upon the profound experiences of love, growth, and the beauty of family.



My journey to where I am today has not been without challenges, as I courageously navigate a path of recovery from addiction. Through my poetry, I channel my personal experiences, allowing my emotions to flow and sharing stories of resilience, transformation, and hope.



Residing within the historic fortified city of Willemstad, I am surrounded by its rich heritage and natural allure, which provide constant inspiration for my writing. Exploring the complexities of human relationships and delving into the depths of my own emotions, my work is marked by its honesty, vulnerability, and a profound connection that resonates with readers of all ages and backgrounds.

Beautifully written poems about heartbreak, love, recovery and all aspects of life from the author. It makes me relate to the author and feel the struggles. At times reading this it made me a bit misty but that's ok. It's life.

A magnificent opus! I thoroughly enjoyed the poetry in this inspired yet very emotional collection of the author's poems. Each poem is quite unique in and of itself. Kind of like riding a rollercoaster in the dark as her emotions, hurt, pain and suffering are displayed. Yet, through it all, she perseveres and realizes just how strong she is.
She is truly a warrior, and I, for one, am very thankful she is still here and writing beautiful poetry.
