About the Author

L.A. Nettles resides in South Florida with her two teenage daughters and Tofu the Corgi. She is a full-time single mom, and credits her children as her inspiration to write. She finds humor in everything, which is apparent in the book's dialogue. L.A. labels herself as being on the wrong side of 40, with a love in reading, especially female driven novels. She realized there weren't many romance novels about divorced middle-aged women getting a second chance at love. Her first novel, Butterflies, showcases the hilarious, thought-provoking, and sexually adventurous side of women in their 40s. The heart of the novel is female friendship. Their witty banter is wisdom with sprinkles of blasphemy. Sometimes love and romance come later in life and not just in your 20s.

Butterflies is a fun, racy romance and I enjoyed reading it. The story follows Emerson, a divorcee in her 40s, as she goes on a journey of rediscovery, with the help of sexy doctor - Alexander Jameson. The character development and flow of the story kept me interested the whole way through. Emerson is a very relatable character and I was routing for her from the get go. This is definitely a spicy read, so be prepared for some heat! I would definitely read more books from this author

Wish I could have left a higher than 5 star rating. This was a beautiful love story about a younger man and older woman. Refreshing take on age-gap romance. Both Emerson and Alexander were broken from previous relationships and afraid to try again. Everyone loves those butterfly feelings that come from the initial reaction to starting a new relationship and wanting to feel them again. Wonderfully intense characters, refreshing plot, and intelligently written; reminiscent of Sheryl Woods.

This book follows Emerson, a recently divorced woman through sessions with her unofficial sex therapist. The book explores very unconventional methods which lead to heated interactions. It was unlike any other storyline that I have read before (which was refreshing). Emerson's sarcasm and Alexander's dry English wit keeps their interactions lively. I am hopeful that the author will continue the storyline and write the story of Alexander's sister, Basil!
