Overview

The latest adventure in Max Lucado's Hermie and Friends series has the garden in a buzz when a new neighbor comes to town. "I'm king of the bees, and I'll do as I please!" Buzby, the MIsbehaving Bee, proclaims as he zooms around the garden with no regard for The Garden Golden Rules. Buzby soon learns, however, that sometimes just doing as he pleases can be harmful and disrespectful to his new neighbors in the garden. Buzby's lesson in rule-following is brought to life through 3-D illustrations and easy-to-understand text that will have kids laughing and learning along with the quirky characters of the garden.

Buzby thinks he is too cool for rules, and ladybug twins Hailey and Bailey admire him for it, until he lets a huge frog into the garden, putting everyone at risk, and finally must ask God for forgiveness and help.

Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
PreS-Gr 3-The fourth episode in the series, this colorful 3D computer animated story is a welcome addition to the collection. Characters Hermie and Wormie (voiced by Tim Conway and Don Knotts respectively) welcome the garden's newest resident, Buzby, into their home, only to discover that he lacks manners. Buzby seems to think that it's not necessary to follow the garden's "golden rules" until his companions prove otherwise. Religious references to following God's rules reenforce the Judeo-Christian influence of the title. The audio is excellent and makes the story even more enjoyable. This title will be appreciated for both group and individual viewing in church schools and other religious classes, as well as for general viewing.-Kirsten Martindale, formerly Menomonie Public Library, W Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
