Doug is an award-winning author of speculative fiction, with over a million words of fiction sold and over a hundred short story sales to professional markets in thirty countries and two dozen languages.

He has published three short story collections: Chimerascope (ChiZine Publications, Canada, 2010), Impossibilia, (PS Publishing, UK, 2008), and just recently, La Danse des Esprits (Dreampress, France, 2011).

Doug has twice won Canada's Aurora Award for speculative fiction, and have been a finalist for the international John W. Campbell Award, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation's Bookies Award, and the juried Sunburst Award.

I'm an award-winning Canadian author of speculative fiction, with over a hundred story sales in thirty countries and twenty-four languages around the world, including InterZone, Amazing Stories, Cicada, Baen's Universe, Weird Tales, The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror, Postscripts, On Spec, and The Third Alternative, as well as anthologies from Penguin/Roc, DAW, Meisha Merlin, and others.

I have two collections of short fiction. My latest, CHIMERASCOPE (ChiZine Publications, 2010), contains 16 of my favourite stories, including an Aurora winner, a Best New Horror selection, and nine Aurora finalists. My first collection, IMPOSSIBILIA (2008), is available from the award-winning UK press, PS Publishing. These can be ordered from the Store page on my web site, smithwriter.com, where you can also read some free online stories along with a complete list of my published fiction is available here along with reviews of my stories.

I was a finalist for the international John W. Campbell Award for best new writer, and have twice won the Aurora Award (2001 and 2004) for best SF&F short fiction by a Canadian.
