Antiques dealer Annabelle Elder’s life is nowhere near as passionate as the erotic art she collects. A cheating ex-boyfriend and her business have seen to that. So when she attends a New Year’s Eve party at Haven Hotel, she sees a chance to blow off some steam. But she never expected to meet anyone like Jared—or to experience such passion in his arms…

Handsome, rich, and charming as hell, Jared Golden brought his Midas touch to Haven Hotel—and created an anything-goes pleasure palace on one floor to cater to his special friends and their very special desires. After falling in lust with Annabelle at first sight, seducing her was easier than he expected. What he didn’t expect was to be seduced in turn…

But unrestrained passion in the bedroom is not the only spark between Annabelle and Jared. Their mutual attraction is confounded by their separate pasts. Caught in an ever-growing web of painful secrets and sensual fantasy, will they be able to face the truth about themselves and trust in true love?

“By Private Invitation is just sexiness.” ~Under the Covers

After going through a horrible break up that involved seeing her boyfriend in between the legs of his secretary, Annabelle is determined to have fun, even if it is for one night. There’s a New Year’s Eve costume party at the infamous Haven Hotel and she’s got two tickets for her and her friend Kate. Just one night of fun is all she needs before she goes back to her life as an antiques and erotic art dealer.

Smooth, charming and rich as all hell, Jared is considered to be a class A playboy. He lives life classy, flashy and no strings attached. As part owner of the Haven Hotel he not only brings his style and charisma to the hotel but his naughty side as well. By creating one floor known as the Salon for his closest friends where they can explore their most intimate desires, Haven Hotel is considered to be an exclusive good time. And there’s nothing better to Jared than women, drinks and a good party. With his New Year’s Eve extravaganza in full swing Jared thinks it will be another night of drinking, socializing and an after party up at the Salon, or so he thinks.

When Annabelle and Jared meet, it’s lust in full swing. I mean, they’re HOT! I want to watch them get it on! What I love about this book is that it’s considered erotic but without the cheap feel that some erotic novels leave you with. It also doesn’t have the classic male dominant force meets classic pathetic female and poof they’re in love. Annabelle and Jared actually enjoy playing both roles and I LOVE that, mainly because that is just the type of gal I am. *wink*

These two are actual grownups with real problems, real jobs and a real healthy appetite for getting it on at any given opportunity, at any given time. They have a way of making outdoor sex seem sensual and ground breaking without it feeling smutty. Annabelle and Jared drown in passion for one another; they drip with a raw, animalistic need that just seems right.

But of course no story is complete without its share of some kind of drama and in this case it happens to be their pasts. Annabelle and Jared are prisoners of their pasts. But one thing is for sure, they can’t stay away from each other no matter how hard they try.

By Private Invitation is just sexiness. So what are you waiting for? Read it!

Annabelle Elder may deal with antiques, but she has passion for erotic art that can be directly linked the her dead parents, she doesn't have a love life that matches.  When she decides to attend a New Year's Eve party at the famous Haven Hotel, she's soon finds herself in a world of pleasure she never expected with hotel owner, Jared Golden.

Jared has always made it known that he doesn't want a relationship with the women he entertains, but there is something about Annabelle that peaks his curiosity and his sexual appetites.  But what Jared keeps saying is lust turns into something that only Annabelle can ease.

I don't know what I expected from this book, but I feel let down.  Jared's hotel has a private salon where, by invitation only, members come to entertain their sexual desires.  I guess I imagined, given the title of the book and the series name, we were going to be spending a lot of time at the Salon.  Annabelle was so open to what she and Jared did that first night, I figured he'd introduce her to all sorts of pleasure within his little club.  But outside of NYE and Jared sulking in it for a brief scene, we don't visit the Salon at all.

There was something about Jared and Annabelle that I couldn't connect with.  It was almost like they were being standoffish with me as a reader while connecting with each other.  There were times when I didn't like either of them, either because of the way they refused to truly open up to the other or the fact they used sex as a way to communicate instead of just using words.  It's great when you have smoking hot sex, but sometimes there is a need to actually talk to each other about feelings and emotions.

I'm not giving up hope for the series.  I'm intrigued by Jared's brother, Tyler and Annabelle's best friend, Kate, who will be in the next book in the series.  I think these two will smoke by Annabelle and Jared on the heat scale.

don't want to give anything away, but you MUST read this book. It sort of reads like 50 Shades of Grey, but the dialogue is so expressive you cannot wait to turn the page. I was so into the book by the first 30 pages I could not wait to finish it. When I was done, I felt like I read through someone else's life. It was full of so much emotion and passion. It was diffidently HOT, but not overtly in your face. I highly recommend this to you!

    I just dont get it

It started out promising, but quickly started dragging. I found the foundation of their relationship a deal breaker for a future relationship. It wasnt believable. It could have been good. It had potential, but in my opinion an epic fail.

    Art history with romance

I was looking for a hot romance, and got so much more! I loved the art history lesson. Google the artists as you read, beautiful. I also enjoyed the grandmother, jewelery and curse. So much happening in a short read. Hope there is another book with these characters.

This book is a great read. The story is sexy but has a wonderful tale to tell. The characters are well developed and I was sucked into the story from the beginning. If you like romantic contemporary erotic stories or just plain contemporary romance, this book has something for everybody. I cannot wait to read more by this amazing author..

    Good

I liked the book, some parts more than others. It was refreshing to have both the female and the male character at the same level, both open minded about starting a sexual relationship and exploring boundaries (although they do so for different reasons). Some of the sex scenes were very erotic and well written. That made the book stand out among the standard contemporary romance books. What I found less convincing is how the relationship all of a sudden turns about love from one page to another as we approach the end. It was too rushed and too sharp a contrast with the good, erotic story that flows through most of the pages. In the end it showed that the characters needed to be better developed. Still it is a good read.
