Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Pastor Warren W. Wiersbe (preaching, Grand Rapids Theological Seminary; 50 People Every Christian Should Know) and his son, Pastor David W. Wiersbe (Calvary Evangelical Free Church of Spring Grove, MN; The Dynamics of Pastoral Care), here offer explanations of the symbols and customs of Christmas, as well as historical perspective and personal application for the Advent season. From angels and Bethlehem to Xmas and Zechariah, the alphabetically organized entries range from several paragraphs to more than five pages in length. Numerous cross references guide users to related entries. VERDICT A clear format and simple language free of lofty jargon make this title suitable for novice researchers. A good choice for pastors, bible study groups, parochial libraries, and public library religion collections.—Bobbie Wrinkle, McCracken
