This book is the required text for a beginning C++ Programming class. I am much older than my classmates and brand new to programming - read, I was worried I wasn't going to understand the material. I am only up to Chapter 4, and so far I'm doing very well in class. The book is clear, the examples are very helpful, and I am happy with the purchase. The only thing I wish it had was a glossary, or specific definitions for boldface type words. If you do not need the sixth edition, the fifth can be legally found in pdf form for free on the Internet. The sixth edition has more examples/program samples which I'm finding very helpful.
