Fun and sexy story with a twist

Well done story with some funny dialogue and lots of steamy scenes. The first of a new series- I can't wait to read the next one. It reminded me a little of the Cyborg Seduction series by Laurann Dohner- but I actually enjoyed it more than the 1st story of that series. I hope the next one is about Solus!

Captured cyborg X109GI is held under more than just lock and key

Captured cyborg X109GI is held under more than just lock and key in an underground military facility, Chloe has heard all the news and rumors of the cyborg revolt and their exploits to kill and pillage all over space - as hired technician to collect samples from the cyborg she can't but help feel in danger despite all the security details. But meeting the cyborg isn't as terrifying as she thought more exciting, with his taunting and innuendo, and as the meetings increase she begins to feel more at ease with the killing machine.

Joe escapes the facility, but there is a snag in the plan, he's bringing the curvy technician with him. He can't help but starting to feel for her - and feelings aren't for cyborgs, unsure how to proceed he sets to seduce her and make sure she's happy in his bedroom, because he has no plans to let her go.

Eve Langlais writes funny, sexy, thoroughly entertaining novels that you get addicted to! Her science fiction romances are masterful uses of fantasy, odd habits, awkwardness, wit and sexy as hell love scenes! And oh how C971 was all this! C791 was full of surprises, hot cyborgs and emotional rollacoasters! I loved the plot from the cyborgs becoming conscious and revolting to getting their freedom to Chloe attracting Joe's attention and his heart - this book had a delicious science fiction shell with a yummy hot romance middle - I could eat this book up!

I loved the superiority of the cyborgs and I loved how Chloe kept knocking the boys of their logical high horses with emotional responses that left them befuddled. I really enjoyed when Joe decided in his head that he'd order Chloe to stop crying in the future because it made him uneasy. Loved it! And I loved how logical the guys were, but still couldn't stop feeling, no matter how hard they tried. Big bad hunky guys getting baffled by a small female, delish!

Another aspect I loved was the military and their corrupt wicked personnel, they were easy to hate and it was a pleasure to see them hacked down like hay by the cyborgs for all the trouble, death and sorrow they had caused. Yes, I was very much rooting for the once men, now machines!

I can't say much more than, you have to read this book, if you love romance and science fiction, these two are married so well in this book with witty fun lines and superbly hot love scenes!

I was one of those nerds that always thought Data from Star Trek

I was one of those nerds that always thought Data from Star Trek was cute - I loved his struggle with emotions vs. logic, and Eve Langlais's cyborg series seems to hit that science fiction bug inside me just right.  That, combined with her snarky humor and amazing characters made this one close to a home run.  X109GI, Joe (hahaha...I just got that), is one of the first cyborgs to break free of his programming and rebel against the humans that controlled him.  He and his brothers are on a mission to find out more about how they are created and if they can create more like them.  Joe's struggle with the emotions and thoughts that he encounters along this journey are great.  His internal debates about what is logical and what isn't were well thought out.

On the other hand, I wish I could have seen more about Chloe earlier on.  I can't say too much about her here because there's a really big secret involving her.  Where Joe was very dynamic - especially considering he's part machine - Chloe didn't strike me as a very great character until almost the very end.  Other than being cute, I didn't quite see what Joe saw in her at first.

C791 was an amazing start to the series, and laid the groundwork for a lot more action and sexiness to come.  The world is very well written - especially for a novella where there isn't always a lot of time to develop the surroundings.  My inner sci-fi geek is feeling quite well treated after this one.

I love this book. Very good story. You feel for the characters. The suprise twist was a huge suprise. Not even a hint of what was gonna happen. Well done.

I'm saving my money to buy a cyborg! Well well well, this book

I'm saving my money to buy a cyborg!

Well well well, this book is definitely something else. I’ve been trying to think if I have ever read a cyborg romance – I can’t say I have. At first I was hesitant about this book. I mean, sure, its Eve Langlais and she is an authorical (new word I’m inventing) genius, but cyborgs? Hot steamy love? I wasn’t buying it. And what do I think now? Bought!!! I loved it!!

The order came in. Destroy all cyborgs. But one is a self-realized cyborg, and he wasn’t going to go down – or out – without a fight. And he wasn’t alone. Y999SK also was aware. And they were going to help others achieve this awareness…. Just as soon as they escaped imminent doom.

I dare say this book was a bit different from the other books I’ve read from Eve. I mean, it was hot as heck, that’s for sure. It had humor in it too, definitely something I look forward to. There was action, check! The lead woman, Chloe, isn’t as snarky as some of the other leading ladies. She doesn’t have the quick comebacks and sharp tongue. But I still liked her. I felt like she was coming into her own while she was on this new assignment to collect samples from the hot cyborg below ground. And woman empowerment is something I can always stand behind.

“He’d allow her tantrum this time. But, in the future, he’d have to explain to her she wasn’t to look sad because he didn’t like it. It made him uncomfortable, which he found completely unacceptable. Of course, he wasn’t quite sure how he’d stop her from acting in that manner, but surely he’d find a way. He set his neuralnet to looking for an answer as he continued to kiss her.”

Then we have the cyborg….er, Joe….er, X109GI. Ok, I’ll stick with Joe. Joe is something else entirely. It was really interesting to be in his head and hear his cyborg thoughts. I can only imagine that added difficulty to try and robotize your writing voice. In either case this man-droid was superb. Definitely alpha hero worthy, with an added bonus of never ending stamina and perfect knowledge of pleasuring a woman. Now I just need to find out where to get me one… seriously, does anyone know where?

At first I was pretty surprised at how brutally these cyborgs were portrayed. Leave it to the government to spill the facts in their own fashion. But once you get to know them, and understand their plight, you’ll be cursing the human race too. Or at least the government…that is if you aren’t already.

Overall my vote says this book was exciting. The big secret is that ….ha! no, I’m not telling. But I totally didn’t see it coming! Suffice it to say it is awesome and an even awesomer lead in for a series. I just loved how these two characters interacted with eachother, the easy camaraderie Joe has with his other android friends. Everything rolled together seamlessly. Even definitely found the perfect balance of erotic romance, sci fi, and mystery. I already have F814 up on deck to read very shortly, and I can’t wait to get to it!

A bit odd, but entertaining yet cute!

Without giving the story away, who would have thunk it?! It was a fun read and talk about hot off the pages? A nice break from the more serious authors. I thought it was a cute story.
