read it before and is interesting. Back in time but relevant. It tells a story of mistakes and good and bad decisions, all of which we succumb to.

"If I could fall into the sky..." Lily sang her favorite song to herself as she was walking. She looked around at the maple trees with their bright leaves of red and orange. "Do you think time would pass..." Lily turned around to see her best friend Chloe. She paused for her to catch up. Chloe's green eyes sparkled. "Singing that song again?" Lily tossed her chocolate brown hair over her shoulder. "Of course!" She laughed "Cuz' you know I'd walk a thousand miles if I could just see you tonight!" The two girls continued towards the park. "Do you think Max and Jack are there yet?" Chloe asked "Probably. Jack wouldn't be late. It was his idea anyways." Lily replied. The four fifth graders had known each other since first grade. They were all best friends. The girls entered the park and quickly found the boys on a bench. Jack stood up. "Let's go into the forest." He said. The group followed the trail back into the woods. "So...why did you call us out here?" Lily asked. Jack began to chatter excitedly. "I found this really cool discovery-" There was a loud rumble. They all froze. "What was that?" Chloe asked nervously. Max looked up. "It can't be thunder. The sky is clear." The rumble sounded again, but this time the ground shook, causing the fifth graders to fall. Lily scooted under a tree that had fallen and was sturdy. She grabbed Chole and pulled her under. Max made his way over and Jack followed. The group huddled beneath the tree. The earth shook violently. Lily's hazel eyes widened."An earthquake!"
