Greg Cage was born to protect. While growing up, he was his mother and sisters shield against the world until he failed. For the last decade, he has carried that guilt and need for vengeance around until it was stripped from him. Now, with his best friend getting married and no longer needing his protection, he is even more lost, completely adrift, and desperate for some control. All he has ever known was how to protect: his family, his friends, and his country. Can he go against everything he has ever known, and give up that control?

Melissa Larson will never let anyone hold the reins in her life. She has been the rock in her family for more years than she can remember, and the fight to keep them together is her main priority right now. She has always been fiercely independent and proud. The last thing she will ever do is ask for someone elses help. But when that choice is out of her control, forcing her to rely on others to save her and her family, and pick up the pieces that are left, will she be able to let someone else be her strength?

The second Greg locks eyes with Meli, he knows that she is someone he needs. Someone he craves. Meli knew the second she met Greg that he would be nothing but trouble and heartache. Her life takes an unexpected turn, and that bitch Fate is back to wreak more havoc on another member of the Corps family.

All hell breaks loose, leaving Greg no choice but to call in a favor. He hooks back up with his old friend Braxxon Breaker from the Breakneck MC. Together, they make sure that nothing threatens anyone Greg loves again.

Meet the Author

Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husbands chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero--the super alpha kind!

Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.

From the first few paragraphs of the first page of Cage, I could already tell I am in for the ride of my life! I had no idea about his dominant tendencies. Yes, he is all alpha male but his is a kinky little f’er! He is a triple threat in every way: alpha male, sexy and pierced! (Drops microphone and walks off stage)! Winner declared! Cage was more of the big brother character in Axel but in his book he is off the charts sexy protector with a gift for talking dirty. When someone catches his attention on a night out at Carnal, a siren calls him to the dance floor and the cat and mouse game is on. Melissa Larson is a nurse who is friends with Izzie and a night out with the girls turns into a night that will rock her world. She plays this game trying to maneuver out of being entrapped by the consuming force that is Cage. She tries to keep the upper hand by not letting him know anything about her, not even her name. “Babe, I need to know what to call you when I slide my dick into your body.” (Picks Jaw up off of floor). I told you he has a dirty mouth and I loved every single word that came out of it! It could be considered crude but it was verbal foreplay. The things that make could effect in my body just reading the words was epic! I couldn’t imagine that actually happening in real life. I would be a puddle on the floor! His beast like tendencies made his pet name for her the stuff fairytales are made of. “I’m your beast, and baby…every Beauty needs a Beast.” The fact that Melissa was as much of strong female character made their love perfectly matched. It was like watching two champion boxers fighting for the title belt. They would dance around each other never really wanting to take the first swing and connect. Once that first right hook connected, Melissa was in for the fight of her life to let love in by losing the match only to have the match called a draw. The message of forgiveness was heard loud and clear. I found it beautifully written and expressive. The Corps Security Series has become one of my all-time favorites. Do yourself a solid, read it! You won’t regret it!

This series is great! Overcoming your flaws and forgiving yourself for imagined blame are lessons we could all benefit from. And who doesn't love hot alpha males? My only suggestion to her would be to find an editor to catch the occasional double use of worda, skipped words, and grammatical errors. The stories are enjoyable anyway but would be more so. Also love the crossover with Crystal Spears book..

Truly disappointed. Cage was such a lovable character in Harper Sloan's "Axel" that I had very high expectations. Sadly I was very dissapointed. Trashy sex scenes (& I've read some doozies) and incomplete sentences in the dialogue, make this very difficult to like.

I did not see that coming..Greg was so tamed and such an emotional person with Izzy and Dee I just didn't think he would be so..dominate..wow. Another book and another emotional read but it was such a happy ending. I love these 2 but Axel and Izzy are still my favorite!

Greg Cage was a born protector. He was his mother and sisters protector until he failed. Now that his best friend Izzy is getting married he is even more lost and not sure where he fits in. Until he meets Melissa Larson and knows that she is someone he needs. Melissa Larson has been her family's rock since her sister died. When Melissa runs into trouble Greg is the only one that can help her. Greg is the big brother that every girl wants. He is strong, powerful, handsome, loving, caring, did I mention sexy! Harper has done it again with Greg and Melissa, these two are dynamo together. And who wouldn't love little Cohen...sweet little Cohen. especially with all his wiener comments. How can one not fall in love with these men and women. Harper Sloan is so talented and does an amazing job every time. She is one of the very few authors I pre-order or just pick up the book as soon as it comes out. She hasn't steered me wrong yet.

Harper Sloan and the 2nd story about her Corps Security Guys is a great read, Give it a try. We know Greg from Axel when he helps Izzy. We learn so much more about him and his protection of those he adopts as his. Meli and Gage's story is a bumpy ride tht you love every bump along the way. On to Beck. Thanks Harper Sloan & Good Writing

This is the Second installment in the Corps Security series. This is Greg and Melissa's story. After reading the first book I loved Cage but at the beginning of the story I hated him. He treated his sex buddy like a whore who was not worth his time and even let her give him a BJ when she knew he wanted another woman….. As the story flowed he redeemed himself. Melissa makes him a better person. Greg "Cage" is a little lost now that he does not have to protect his best friend all the time. He meets Melissa at a doctor’s appointment and instantly wants her. When they come across each other again she wonders what kind of baggage he is dragging around. A crazy ex and secrets that could destroy them both before they can figure out if they want to be together. When tragedy strikes can Greg be the hero she needs and how far is he willing to go to be that hero? I loved Cohen and all his wiener comments. He was so freaking funny “Melwee? What are you doing? Why is Greg not wearing his big boy underwear? Why doesn’t Greg have clothes on? I wanna be naked! You’re gonna see his wiener, and Nana said that boys shouldn’t show their wieners to girls. It’s naughty . You’re gonna go to time out.” Side characters help make the story even better – Cohen, Izzy, Axel, Dee, Beck, Cooper, Locke, and Sway.

Words can't describe how much I loved this book.  I'm so glad I started the series. I loved the writing style and the characters. I can't wait to read the next new thing from Harper.  I loved Greg in Axel and it was great to see him get his own book! He is such a lovable guy, it was eye opening to see his story! Loved every word.

Second book in the series and even better than the first.  Cage is an overprotective Alpha male that would do anything for the woman he loves.  This book is heartbreaking, heartwarming and has the humor that the first book was lacking.

I went into this book with low expectations, I read Axel & did not love it. In all reality I barely even liked it. But I figured everyone loves Harper so I would try again. I am so glad I did! I really enjoyed Cage & Meli. The highs & lows of this book made me an emotional mess. Loved it and ready for the rest of Corps Security :)
