Overview

"Can I see you again?"

She let out a long sigh and stared up at the sliver of crescent moon. Finally she nodded. "Don't tell anybody though or people will think you’re crazy. Only psychos talk to dead people."

Ronnie Campbell thinks she’s handling her sister Katherine’s suicide just fine. Grade 10 has started and while there are lots of whispered rumors in the hall, Ronnie tries to ignore them. But it’s hard living in the shadow of a dead girl, especially one who had it all: popularity, good looks and a promising future. Even though she tries to hide it, Ronnie is lost and struggles to find out why her seemingly perfect sister would take such a drastic step.

As she searches for answers, Ronnie continues to see and speak to Katherine as if she were still alive. But no amount of imaginary conversations can tell Ronnie what pushed her sister to the edge. All she has is a strip of photo booth images of Katherine with an unknown boy—the person who might just hold the key to everything.

The fact no body kmows why the sucide happened is so blunt and as like in real life the struggle of the ones left behind the self destructive nature of confused loved ones ..and the rawness of life goes on ..

A fantastic novel about how a girl deals with the suicidal death of her older sister. Katherine was the golden girl, honor student, cheerleader, and popular, so why did she decide to take her life? As Ronnie tries to deal with life after her sister's death, she thinks she's handling everything just fine...but she's not. She's raging and spiraling out of control, and to top it all off, she's speaking with Katherine's ghost, who doesn't really seem to help Ronnie out in putting together all the pieces. I really thought this book was great, but want to take off one star because the ending felt rushed, as well as still not fully understanding the circumstances of Katherine's suicide. Maybe that wasn't the point the author was trying to convey, but I really really want to know... :)

Very good paced story. I could feel the main characters emotions perfectly through the tone of the writer's words. Would read more by leanne beattie

I loved this book. Its pages were an easy read. Not quite for young teens given some profanity, but a deep felt true to life situation. Worth the purchase!

Compelling enough of a plot to keep reading, but overall this makes for a lacking, disappointing read. The protaganist makes for an irritating narrator who demonstrates minimal depth or development.

Beautifully written, this coming of age story has it all. My only complaint is that you feel as if something tragic happened to Katherine that is never explained. Highly recommended!
