Children's LiteratureThe now popular TV personality, Caillou, has been the focus of numerous books for young children. An amusement park can be so much fun. Caillou is really happy that he is tall enough to go on the River Ride, but also glad that Dad is there too, because it is just a little bit scary. Dad is really the hero in this book because he is skillful enough to win a huge teddy bear. Let's hope that other kids won't be too disappointed if their Dad's are not quite as talented. Caillou: At the Amusement Park is part of the "Scooter" series that offers a spread where kids can place the reusable stickers into the scene to create their own stories. The art looks like static scenes from computer-generated art, and it is printed on sturdy pages with a high sheen. Caillou has many experiences that kids will be able to understand and also share all of his emotions. This book is more of a personal purchase than something for the school or public library. 2003, Choutte Publishing Ages 3 to 6.
