This book was a staple in our home growing up. I cannot wait to read this to my son on his first Christmas. :)

My sister read this to my children (now 42 & 45) in the Santa Claus line in 1974 and had all the children in line at her feet. My daughter still reads to her daughter (16) every Christmas Eve after she goes to bed and sends her aunt an email telling her how much she loves her.

Reading this book on Christmas eve has become a family tradition at our home. My kids are all married yet they and their spouses still ask me to read the story every year.

Being from Louisiana, I grew up on this story and heard it every year at Christmastime. Definitely a classic, not only for Louisiana, but also for all over the world!

I grew up in Lousiana and moved to Texas when I was 20. I married a Texan & his family thinks I'm a crazy "Lousiana girl". I've told them about this book but I've never read it to them. This is what I grew up reading every Christmas. I bought copies for all of them.

I grew up in Louisiana and delight all with the reading of this and other Cajun books and jokes. Now in SC it is great addition to my library and fun to give away.

This book is a great addition to any book shelf, especially if you collect Christmas books. It is unlike any Christmas book you've ever read. Great fun!

The pastor or our church is from Louisiana and apparently has strong roots. He enjoys reading this at church functions during the holidays.... with all the inflections. I have heard him read it twice and have enjoyed it thoroughly. It's great family entertainment.

Every year our family purchases a new book for our Christmas library. We enjoyed this book, read by a friend, and immediately purchased 4 copies. 1 to keep and 3 to give as gifts! Probably the best addition in the last 5 years! The kids are 12-25 years old now, and they still request it to be read aloud every holiday season.

I'm from Baton Rouge, and I love to read the book to my friends or give it as a gift and let them read it to me. Kids love the allimagators (give a stuffed one with the book), give a cajun music CD for adults along with the book. It definitely brings back memories of home.
