Sebastian Deveraux is the Alpha of his pack and like all the Deveraux men, he’s sexy as pure sin. He’s waited for decades for just the right woman. For his mate. And ten years ago he’d been sure he’d found her in Amanda St. James. But she’d run from him.

Now she’s back. He’ll do anything to keep her. Even if it means tying her to his bed.

EXCERPT FROM CHAPTER ONE

“You should go after her,” his brother ventured.

“It wasn't meant to be.”

“Are you still buying into that stars aligning crap? Mon Dieu. Enough already, mon frere. If you want her, you must go get her. Make her listen to reason. Find out why she ran. Bring her back and make her yours.” Andre's voice rang with emotion. He almost sounded like he, himself, had been in love. Painfully, completely... and lost her. “Tie her up if you have to.”

A sharp sound outside caught his attention. Not thunder, nor rain. Something else. A low growl sounded from the hallway.

“Jules is up,” Sebastian said and headed toward the sound. Even though he saw nothing out of place, he knew that the walls around his estate didn't keep out reporters, tourists, and the occasional woman, desperate for a wealthy husband. His sharper wolf senses took over as he slipped into his bedroom and looked around. It was just as he'd left it. He saw nothing but rain through the window, but his keen ears could hear someone breathing. He exited his room and moved toward the front of the house. His brother, Jules—still in furry form—was in the large foyer.

“You take the back,” Sebastian told him and headed for the front door.

The wide front porch wrapped all the way around the house and he quickly made his way to far side that ran the length of his bedroom. The rain beat on the roof above his head, drowning out his footsteps.

The blonde peering into his bedroom window never heard him approach.

“Can I help you?” he asked mildly when he was within pouncing distance. Shrieking, she whirled to face him, backing up at the same time. Her hands came up to balance herself, but it was too late. He made no move to rescue her even though he could have. Her momentum toppled her over the railing and into the soggy grass below. She landed flat on her back.

From the edge of the porch, he stared down at her not feeling the least bit sorry for startling her. What did a man have to do to get privacy?

Her wheat colored hair covered her face and the rain slowly soaked her clothes. She seemed too startled to move. Finally, she eased up on her elbows. Her breasts heaved and fell as if she might start crying. The last thing he wanted was a crying woman. Or a lawsuit.

“You all right?”

With a perfectly polished hand, she flicked her hair out of her face and glared up at him. The blue eyes that locked with his couldn't have surprised him more if there'd been eight of them.

This was a great read! It got me hooked from the very start. I couldn’t help but wonder why Amanda left and why Sebastian didn’t go after her. I found out why it’s because they are both so stubborn! The story of old flames and hidden passion came alive in this book. I felt like I was Amanda and I did feel very angry when Sebastian tied me….I mean Amanda up!!!
Eva's Sanctuary - Eva Coppersmith
“This novella is a fast, sensual read that will keep the heat turned up for you. You just may need a cold shower after you are finished reading. It is a book that can easily be read in one sitting. Sebastian and Amanda are a match made in heaven and the sparks fly from the beginning.”

    steamy short story

Steamy short story, only three stars because it is too short to have well developed characters and plot. I really enjoyed it, but just wish it was a full length novel. I look forward to the rest of the series coming to nook. I will definitely read the rest of the series.

    It's okay but very abrupt

I get the feeling this book would've been better off as a longer novel, with more detail and build up. The characters are thrown into a sexual situation too soon and the hero seems not very in tune with the heroine, which makes me wonder what's going on since he is supposed to be able to read minds. The hero has poor people skills, gives the impression that he was raised outside of society even if he owns a successful business. It just seems like some characteristics don't mesh well with the hero.

I had a hard time getting into this particular book.

I've read other books by this author that have been much much better.

    waste

not interesting...no plot...waste of money...it was not as long as it said either...skipping two to four page numbers at a time...supposed to be 203 pages but probably wasn't half that...just a sexual encounter...and that was all.

    The scene's come alive!

The Cajun's Captive is a short story (about 200 pages) with explosive love scenes. There's about 10% story and 90% sex scene. Depending on what you're wanting the most of will depend on how you much you will like the book. I will say that this author knows how to steam up the story and make you want more! 3 stars ONLY because the length of the book. 20 stars if you were rating the love scenes!

    Great read but....

Had the potential to be so much better! Fast read and enjoyable, but short storyline. I did enjoy it but too predictable and ended too quickly with only being 203 pages long (each page = 1 page). Read in one afternoon.

    It's okay

The story is well written but the plot could be developed better. There is no real conflict.

    Good read

Enjoyed the story, but I wanted the author to explore the whole wolf connection more. The price was right, it's short, somewhat predictable, but stll hot.

    Book just ends.

Beware this book has no real stor. It is short. Seems like it just cuts off. What may be a plot left unanswered. This ends up being a small piece of 5 books you can buy in a pack. Disappointing

every book in this series draws you in and makes you love each person, each story, each love. even though this book could have been longer I thinks it gives just enough to draw you into the series. each book may be about different couple all the books talk about every person in the books before. for a quick love story of alpha males this is it. hope you enjoy all of them because I did.

Tje majority of this book is bedroom action.

It has very little character or plot development. The two main characters have misconcepts about each other. He uses "caveman" tatics, and the rest was just steamy sex.
