I used to teach university-level calculus. I was GOOD at it. And I knew how to spot a good textbook. CALCULUS AND ANALYTIC GEOMETRY by Stein and Barcellos and CALCULUS by Larson and Hostetler are the two best calculus textbooks I've ever found. For readability and ease of understanding I think the Stein and Barcellos book is maybe the better of the two. But they're both great. You can't go wrong either way.
