I am using this book in an AP BC Calculus class. The example problems are extremely helpful, however, there are several problems in each section that are more difficult than any of the example problems. They actually require a bit of thought. Otherwise, I think this book is pretty good. Oh, a bit of advice. There are CD's and Solutions guides that go along with this book. If you get the CD, you don't need the book or study guides at all; it has all the problems and solutions to odd number problems all on the CD. And if I remember correctly, the CD set was only $60 (through our campus store) as compared to a lot of money for the books. The solutions guide also leaves out some vital steps in explaining how the problems are done. Several times I have had to ask my teacher for extra help on a problem because the study guide didn't provide an adequate explanation for a solution.

This book is excellent. It covers a lot of meterial, and provides many proactical applications so students can actually use what they're learning. There are lots of though-provoking questions that ask you to solve real problems, instead of the usual mindless problem-answer with no real applications. This book is a wonderful resource with detailed explanations that provide the reader with a true understanding of the concepts discussed within the text.

This is, perhaps, the paradigmatic calculus book for experts and novices alike; giving clear, concise explanations, while not persistent in intimidating the reader. Very well done!

This book is a great tool for learning calculus. Although weak in some areas, it has challenging problems and explains the topics really well.

this book is so in depth that i myself couldn't make it any better, the examples are so 'on the money' that an elementary student can learn this

A truly beautiful edition, though it goes much further in depth than I needed for my class. The graphics help a lot.

I know I can't cuss but I'm going to see if I can get away with it here. Well all I know that this book help math dummies like me learn Calculus. All I want to say it is a damn AWESOME BOOK. Every damn teacher should be using this book to teach students calculus. Any teacher that does not use this book as a textbook to teach it to its students is a dork. AWESOME BOOK!!!!! :)
