Overview

Meet three sexy ranchers-who also happen to be vampires-in the first of a new series by the national bestselling author of Wild Instinct.

Allie always desired mysterious, sexy rancher Caleb Johnson, but he never seemed to notice her. Until the night she's attacked by a vicious animal, and rescued by a shapeshifting vampire that she almost seems to recognize: the baritone growl, the mesmerizing eyes, the inexplicable animal attraction. That's because her savior is Caleb, and now he has no choice but to bring Allie into the shadows with him-to protect her from a rival werewolf pack, and to finally reveal his true feelings for the woman he's been afraid to love.

LOVE her other stuff, but not this

Not sure why, but I couldn't even finish this and won't get the others in the series. I was bored with the story and the characters. I absolutely love her Hell's Eight Series, but this one just doesn't do it for me. It's not the paranornmal aspect; the guys aren't as engaging and the girl is not interesting, either.

    Blah Blah Blah

Well what can I say. I havent anything nice to say I shouldnt say anything. But, I read Sarah's Hell eight series, and LOVED it cant wait for more. I swear she didnt write this book. I wanted to rip out my hair. It took almost a 100 nook pages to get through the an explanation of something, the female character was so annoying I wanted them to kill her, her and the male just bickered constantly that put me on edge. Then the whole pregnancy never went anywhere or even if there was. The main battle was so ridiculous you coundlnt ever follow it. Anyway it was awful, I hope whoever actually wrote this goes back to their day job. Sorry Sarah.

    Ugh

I wanted so badly to love this book! I read the online excerpt and had to buy it. However, can anyone say Twilight knockoff??? Everything from the whiny heroine wanting the strong vampire to him not wanting to change her to him being forced to change her to her supposed lack of talents and all around clumsiness to her questionable pregnancy to the cheeky werewolves... UGH. It's all the same. And I agree with the previous reviews that said the heroine was just irritating to read about. Overall I was very disappointed with this story :(
This is the first book I have read from this author, and I am unsure whether or not to bother trying to read a different series... Unfortunate!

    terrific romantic rustic ranch fantasy

In Dunnesville, Montana Allie the bakery owner has the hots for rancher Caleb Johnson. Every morning, very early, he is her first customer, but though he is nice and friendly to her he seems to ignore her efforts to even get his eyebrow raised let alone a more interesting lower body part. She has tried all sorts of seductive ruses from her body to her food to her coffee, but he seems immune to her desire and charm.

After a long day on her feet wearing a special bra that hurt physically and mentally failed to arouse her unrequited lover, Allie heads home when she hears a growl. Believing flight would not work she growls back to stay away or else as she holds her keys ready to poke out the potential assailant's eyes. When instead of your garden variety mugger, a wolf attacks her she kicks at its anatomy. However, as a voice in her head shouts run, she recognizes the "sounds" as that of Caleb, but her rescuer is a shapeshifting vampire. Caleb saves her from a rival werewolf pack, but knows his life mate whom he hid his deep regard for will forever live in the shadowy world he and his siblings reside in.

The first Shadow Wranglers romantic rustic ranch fantasy is a terrific thriller that grips the audience even before the assault as Allie's desire adds a human element to the mix. The story line is fast-paced and the Big Sky Country seems an ideal locale for howling in heat vampiric werewolves (must be one hell of a bite). Allie makes the tale work as she learns seducing a man may be easy, but loving a vampire-werewolf takes an extraordinary female.

    Good story line but...

The story itself was great, but the main characters fought like junior high kids. I actually felt sorry for Caleb about half way through the book. Allie should have been put in time out for all her nasty comments.

    Was Pretty Good

I like it though there was a lot of awkward conversation especially toward the end. Sometimes because someone is independent and sassy doesn't mean they don't have common sense and i don't always like to read them argue about everything to prove said sass. But I enjoy the author and will probably even get the next book in the series.

    I Also Recommend:

    Mouth watering hero

I simply fell in love with the hero of this book! He's everything a woman would want, handsome, down-to-earth and courageous. The plot in this one is not very original but the writing was lovely. My only real problem was with the heroine, a real TSTL type. If she'd been half as intelligent as her love interest I think I would have enjoyed their story completely. But over all it is still a hot love story and I will probably read the second in the series.

    I Also Recommend:

Stupidity will only take you so far...

I am an absolute fan of Sarah. I started reading her books when she wrote for Ellora's Cave; however, I found that this book bounced around a lot. I did not like the heroine; she is either stupid or naive. To think that without any skills or knowledge that you can just trust anyone was beyond believable; the book overall was good. I hope the next series is more believable.
