In reading these essays, we learn something about how God's grace was manifest in these imperfect people. As we see God working in them, perhaps we will believe that God can work through us.
This book is the indispensable guide for all those who are following Lent Madness 2012 online.
For each saint, we include a brief summary of who they were and what we might learn from their life, along with a prayer. If known, we include the death date of the saint. This book does not include saints who are in "trial use" such as those in Holy Women, Holy Men only. This is every saint in the official calendar of The Episcopal Church. Here you will also find saints who are included in the bracket of saints for Lent Madness 2012, even if those saints are not in the official calendar.
Canon David Veal compiled the first edition in the 1970s. He is a retired Episcopal priest, having served as Canon to the Ordinary of the Diocese of Northwest Texas.
Fr. Scott Gunn is executive director of Forward Movement.
