Overview

"Calibus" is one of the most unique novels you will ever read.

Autobiographical fiction of the finest quality, it is also the spearhead of a new literary movement. Told from the first person point of view of a young boy named Calibus, who becomes a vampire, and a writer. And, after five hundred years on this Earth, Calibus decides to write his greatest novel, his own autobiography.

The story begins in Constantinople in 1473, as we meet the young orphan boy Calibus, and the girl who would change his life forever, Annabelle. Annabelle is a vampire girl, born into a powerful family of vampires who have worked in secret for eons protecting mankind. As Calibus is turned into a vampire and brought into her family, his eyes are opened to a world with new possibilities, and also more darkness, and more light, than he could ever see or imagine before.

Throughout his journey, Calibus endures high points and heartaches. He crosses paths with and befriends many historical figures, including Suleyman the Magnificent, King Francis the 1st of France, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. And as he reflects on his story, he reflects on all our stories.

Nice work, Matra! I really enjoyed it. I think that last review is completely off with his comment. In my opinion, the true beauty of this story is they way the writing voice evolves throughout. I think the first chapters reflect the voice of the young orphan boy Calibus perfectly, and as Calibus grows older and wiser and evolves throughout the story, so too does his writing evolve with him. It's pretty awesome stuff.

I really hope this is a self published book because it would make me feel deep concern for the publishing business. Those small samples read like something that might have been written by a12 year old, it's pretty amateurish to say the least.

One of the greatest books I've ever read in any genre or in any format. A must read for fans of vampire novels, intrigue, romance, and just for avid readers everywhere.
