Overview

Jewel is young and beautiful, and with several hustles under her belt, she's all about making money. This doesn't leave much time for friends, but she'll always make time for Touch, the local hustler. He's been her friend since grammar school, when they made a lifelong pact to look out for each other. Lucky for them, their promise has never been put to the test—until now. When Michael Burroughs arrives on the scene from L.A., he floods the East Coast with top-notch product, and quickly earns his title as the California Connection—Calico for short. He's also a smooth brotha with a knack for getting whatever he wants out of women then tossing them to the side. When he meets Jewel, sparks fly, and things quickly spin out of control. Touch knows how Calico operates and doesn't want to watch his friend get used and abused. Little does he know, he doesn't have to worry about her, because Jewel has a few tricks of her own. When Calico shows his true colors, Jewel knows just how to get revenge. Will her plans backfire, or will she be the last woman standing?

California connection was a pretty good read and the characters were believable. It was like I was there in the story as things were taking place. I really look forward to reading more from this author.

Again, I am not a big reader at all. My friend was reading the book and began telling me a little about the story, She had been readig the book for several days. Once she finished, the book was on the table several days later, I picked the book up and finished in a day and a half. Only put it down for a few reasons one, work, two, sleep and three, restroom lol. It was very good, the ending was crazy, can't wait for part two. Just saw the cover, I don't know if that's Sasha, or Jewel's new look, but I would love to see how Touch and Calico look, (bet they fine) I have already pre-ordered my copy for December 1st, my xmas present to myself and have selected one day service. very good overall.

The book was okay overall....but the book was so irrelevant...like what was the point of the book....I liked the characters and all...but there really was no story 2 me....just another book about a gold digger turned good, sex (great sex parts though), and envious friends....but what book isnt that in....Chunichi could've came better than that is all i'm saying....it could sit on my bookshelf, but would definately not be 1 of my favorites.....

Thought book was okay but there were plots in book that were not followed up such as Touch being an informant and other scenarios that were touched on but never followed up. Made little or no sense. Get real, Chunichi.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. Can you believe that I picked this book up today and did not put it down until I was finish. I could not get enough of Jewel and Touch. When I first started reading this book, I hoped that they ended up together and to my surprise they did. I did not like Sasha thoughout the book, because I thought she was just using Jewel for her kindness and love. I would like to know what would of happened to Jewel and Calico if they would of never gotten pulled over that night and he was arrested. But in the end, I was happen to know that Jewel and Touch got together. I wanted to jump in the book at the end when Jewel got shot. I even read the first chapter of California Connection2. Now I want to get Sasha
