“A beautiful and uplifting story – the kind that makes readers sigh with pleasure and smile through their tears. Tender, sweet, joyous, sensual, and poignant, this novel is simply wonderful.” – Romantic Times

Gifted with the ability to read minds, but unable to remember much of her past, Meggie Bloom is a pariah without a future as she cares for the lost souls in Woodbridge Sanitarium. All that keeps her going are her dreams of a better life, until the handsome and mysterious Lord Hugo Montagu enters her life, promising the impossible: Lord Montagu will free Meggie from a life of drudgery, if she’ll agree to be his wife.

“Brilliantly written… Hugo is a great character whose behavior is changed by the love of a good woman. Meggie is magnificent as the heroine.” – Affaire de Coeur magazine

“A charming tale.” – Romance Reviews

    GREAT READ

THIS BOOK WAS PUBLISHED 7 YEARS AGO. WRITERS HADN'T GOTTEN THE CALL TO WRITE A LITTLE STEAMIER READ BACK THEN. I BOUGHT IT AT A SECOND HAND BOOK STORE AND THOUGHT,OH WELL, IT'S SOMETHING TO OCCUPY MY TIME. IT OCCUPIED MY TIME UNTIL I FINISHED IT 4 HOURS LATER. SO FUNNY AND SO FRUSTRATING BOTH AT THE SAME TIME-SAME PAGES TOO. HUGO IS THE CONSUMMATE CREEP. MEGGIE A SWEET YOUNG LADY WITH A SWEET LITTLE DOGGIE THAT SCARES THE HECK OUT OF THE CREEP. THE FACT THAT NICE LITTLE DOGGIE WITH THE YELLOW EYES IS A FULL GROWN WOLF-WILL PLEASE THE READER WHO AGREES HUGO IS A 'NOT NICE' MAN. HUGO WOOS MEGGIE. WELL, SIMPLY ASKS HER TO MARRY HIM, NO WOOING HERE, NO TIME, HE LOST EVERYTHING IN A CARD GAME AND NEEDS MONEY, QUICK. MISUNDERSTANDINGS WHEN HE SEES HER IN AN INSANE ASYLUM LEADS TO THE FUNNY DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE TWO, STILL AS YOU ARE LAUGHING, YOU WANT TO YELL AT MEGGIE TO BE CAREFUL, HE INTENDS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU! ON A SENSUAL SCALE OF 1-10 IT IS A 7, GOOD FOR A 7 YEAR OLD BOOK. THIS IS A KEEPER BOOK THAT I WILL RE-READ FROM TIME TO TIME. THE AUTHOR ALSO TAKES A RIGHTEOUS SWIPE AT ORPHANAGES.
