Barnes & Noble - EJ Johnson
Riding a wave of multi-platinum chart-toppers, Michael Bublé presents his third studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, featuring a David Foster-produced set of classic and contemporary songs, from "The Best Is Yet to Come" and "I've Got the World on a String" to a pair of Bublé originals. With the swinging Clayton-Hamilton Orchestra at his back, Bublé launches into such classic jazz fare as the finger-snapping title track while also taking in songs from Leonard Cohen "I'm Your Man", Henry Mancini the Latin-flavored "It Had Better Be Tonight", and Mel Tormé "I'm Coming Home Baby" -- in a funky, cool-cat rendition assisted by the vocals of Boyz II Men.
Bublé's own songs, co-written with Amy Foster-Gillis and Alan Chang, veer from the touching ballad "Lost" to the feel-good single "Everything," the album's catchiest track by a mile. Altogether, the suave, self-assured results more than ever reveal this heartthrob crooner to be a new-model Frank Sinatra. More like call him irresistible. [Note: The special edition includes the bonus cut "Love."]
All Music Guide - Matt Collar
More than any of his contemporaries, vocalist Michael Bublé has bridged the gap between standards-oriented vocal pop and more contemporary pop vocals. Having perfected the mix on his superb 2003 effort, It's Time, which found the Frank Sinatra-influenced singer covering both "I've Got You Under My Skin" and Leon Russell's R&B ballad "A Song for You," Bublé wisely doesn't mess with a good thing on 2007's Call Me Irresponsible. Once again delving into a mix of swinging big-band numbers and classic pop hits such as the wickedly hip '60s standard "Comin' Home Baby" featuring backing vocals from Boyz II Men, the album is a breezy, stylish good time. And while such cuts as "The Best Is Yet to Come" and the laid-back title track comfortably cast Bublé as a modern-day crooner consistent with his billing, the unexpected reworkings of contemporary pop songs often make the biggest impact. To these ends, his bossa nova duet with vocalist Ivan Lins on Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" and the reharmonized Willie Nelson perennial "Always on My Mind" work particularly well here, not as cheeky cabaret but as artfully crafted and devastatingly moving ballads. And it's not just the cover tunes that drive the album; on the contrary, much like the Bublé co-written ballad "Home" defined the mood of It's Time, his sparkling melodic pop original "Everything" helps make Call Me Irresponsible a truly welcome pop album by any standard. This CD was nominated for a Grammy award in 2007 as Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, and "Everything" was nominated for Best Male Pop Performance.

Philadelphia Inquirer - Karl Stark
The material may change, but the new charts don't alter Bublé's essential Frankness. The son of a fisherman, he sounds as if he were born in a tuxedo.

    I Also Recommend:

    Buble is a great singer

Michael Buble has unbelievably quality sound. His slow themes will draw you in and his up tempo stuff will keep you listening for hours. He truly has earned the right to be compared to the likes of Martin and Sinatra.

    Bubble channels Sinatra.

Buble....Sinatra lives again. Great CD....especially great to listen to [when] in traffic--keeps that blood pressure, road rage and all that bumper to bumper frustration in check. Like a long, cool drink of water from a bubbling mountain stream. Nice.........

I loved "It's Time" and 'Caught in the Act" but unfortunately this one just falls short. Everything is a good song and also The Way You Look Tonight but the rest is generally disappointing.

    Classiest Performance

What else can you say about this guy that hasn't already been said? I'm so glad he is out there trying to continue the legacy of wonderful and talented American singers and songwriters who preceded him. Hopefully his younger audiences will continue to appreciate that "standards" will never go out of style.

    WONDERFUL!

Once again....Michael Buble has not disappointed us with this CD. I knew by about the 3rd song that I was going to love it and by the end....sure enough, I did! I'm going to have a hard time deciding which song is my favorite. He's done an exceptional remake of Mrs. Jones. It's so smooth it just makes feel good down to your toes. Makes you just want to kick back with a glass of wine, put your feet up, close your eyes and let him take you away with his music. I love it!

    BUBLE BRILLIANT!

Buble hits it out of the park. I love his voice and his take on every song - in particular the 2 songs that buble penned are amazing. Simply put - this is an amazing amazing testament to buble's ability to sing - and to write songs that are sure to become major hits which certainly will follow the international success and appeal of the smash hit 'home' from his last cd.

    My first Buble CD

This is my first Michael Buble purchase. He has the smoothest voice out there, no doubt about it, but the songs were not really my cup of tea. A few of them were pretty good, but this is not a CD I will be listening to a lot. This is just a matter of preference, nothing more.

    Michael can do it all

Michael can clearly do standards. What i love is his versatility. "Everything" and "Home" are beautifully written and expressed. I am hoping he does more new songs and a full Christmas Album. Full Michael, not just a small sample!

Is there a rating higher than 5!?

Without question, this record changed my life. I used to be hearing impared. Just listening to it has changed the way that hear and interpret sound. Everyday things that I once called "noise" I now process as auditory magic. Birds sing brighter, voices sound harmonious, and even traffic sounds orchestral. I am forever in debt to Mr.Buble for this incredible gift. God bless Micheal Buble!!!
