    Meh

The story ends abruptly, like she just quit and ended it in one sentence. And, question...Did ANYONE proofread it? She has no set verb tense! Sometimes past and others present, at times evenn in a single setence!!! Read if you must, but honestly, why bother?

    Not a good one!

I read about 17 out of the 27 pages, and just the plot was not enjoyable. I don't recommend this short story.

    Young Author

The Call is a very short story from a young author. To answer a question asked in the comments the material is clean and appropriate for young readers. The subject matter is based on the idea of a budding romance for teens but doesn't really progress beyond what might have been an introduction to a story. I generally encourage young writers and in this case I hope the author continues to expand on her ideas. I do however suggest proof-reading or finding an editor for help. There is a big difference in the meaning of childless and childish. For me this story is more like a paper for a lit class that has been writen at the last minute.

The story was too short, had no real plot, and was altogether boring. I do not recommend this book.

    Just...wow

Ok. Until I read the authors bio, I didn't think it was too bad. As it involves jr high kids (at least the little girl would be), I assumed it was written by someone the same age. I have seen pieces by jr high students written much better than this, but I encourage children to write. I think this author needs a couple of creative writing lessons at least. A book on story structure would help as well. I would be demanding my money back were this not free. I could not keep up with what was going on with this story, and sometimes it was not even clear who was talking or what the point even was. I think anyone who puts their work out there should at the very least edit, make sure the story flows...just do those small, simple steps before putting your work out there.

    Many errors

The story is shallow, it fluctuates in and out of past and present tense with no reason to. There are words missing and improperly constructed sentences. There is no clear break between peoples thoughts making it difficult to determine who is thinking them. Story ends abruptly. Wish i could edit the story myself.

    Frustrated

The author states in her smashwords biogaphy that this series is a novella; a more apprpopriate term for this set of stories due to their complexity. A short story still needs a begining middle and end which this book lacks...the story reads like it was written and then chopped appart. Part one, Bitten, is approximately the same length as Stolen, Part two, and each follows a story line where they reach a demi-climax but lack a conclusion. While cliffhangers are a valid literary device, I personally feel that doing so twice in a series without resolving he first book is in poor taste and frustrates the reader.

Some additional proofreading could'nt hurt but contextually the reader can figure our what the author meant to say. The author has strong character development and a solid plot. Overall an enjoyable read, only dissapointed that the books were published separately and that the third installment is not available.

    Too Cute

The characters are realistic and the atmosphere around them is exciting. If you like sweet romance than this short story is a winner.
