This flimsy second book of Weber’s SEAL Brotherhood series follows the ultraelite Poseidon team on a mission to a California suburb; why SEALs are undertaking a landlocked mission on U.S. soil is never explained. Diego Torres is tapped to lead Operation Hammerhead and retrieve a hostage while securing sensitive intelligence. When disaster strikes, he is forced to leave behind the body of a slain brother in arms. Harper Maclean is a single mom and interior decorator whose elegant life is interrupted by the news of her child’s father being killed in action on Operation Hammerhead. But when rumors spread that her ex is alive, Diego and his team infiltrate her neighborhood in search of answers. He compromises his principles to get close to Harper, becoming far more intimate than he intended. Weber creates an improbable adventure of low risk and strange, sometimes illegal choices by her protagonists, with a tense and frantic romance at its center. The SEALs on Diego’s team are the literary equivalent of a stripper peeling off a fake uniform, titillating but with no hint of military authenticity. The conclusion is typically heroic, and it is as unsatisfying as the romantic denouement. (Feb.)

Call to Honor is a seductive tale of secrets, suspicion, and yearning passion turning into a tender adoration. I liked how the team Poseidon was introduced, their tight brotherhood is admirable, their skills and proficiency making them the best of the best. They are willing and able to step in as needed and to sacrifice their lives if meant to be. Yet a betrayal by a team member was not something they were prepared for. Lieutenant Diego Torres has come over the odds that were against him from the start of his life and bettered himself for a brighter future. His dignity, honesty, and love for rules, regulations, and routines make him an ideal soldier, his honed ability to control his temper a better man than most. He loves action, he loves to work out, but waiting and being still, opening up to new people, and dating aren't part of his better skills. Harper Maclean is tough, smart, and sweet single mom, whom also has come over the odds and made a good, safe life for his son. She has spunk and courage, she is passionate about life, and there is nothing she wouldn't do for her son. Nathan is absolutely adorable, smart as a whip, caring, sweet boy who looks after his mom. I loved Harper and Nathan, the mother/son connection was truly strong and loving, making me smile constantly. Diego and Harper were hot together, the passion between them is scorching, the developing deeper feelings are obvious, no matter how much and how often they try to convince themselves that it is only about the sex. The main focus in the story was the failed mission, the assumedly dead SEAL member, his betrayal of the team and the country, and the necessity to find out what happened, and who is behind it, and who was helping him. I liked the intensity the suspense and the investigation gave to the story, the action towards the end picked up the heart rate. At the beginning, the plot moves on rather slowly, Diego and Harper don't even meet until about 20% into the tale. But when the story picks up, it comes addictive and engaging, the luscious craving Harper and Diego have for each other steaming up the pages, and the hunt for the treasonist members of the team heightening the tension. Not all the questions regarding the investigation were completely answered, raising up the curiosity towards the continues of the series even more, if the attractive Poseidon team hadn't already done that. Sizzling hot romance in a middle of a vigorous investigation introduces the gorgeous, intriguing members of the Poseidon team and opens up the doors to a new, promising series that I will keep my eye on! ~ Four Spoons

What a great beginning to this new series of SEALS. Diego is a confirmed military man who vows to only be married to the navy. Harper is a seemingly naive woman with a young boy. Diego prides himself on being part of the elite. But when something happens and the Navy questions their integrity something must be done. Thinking one of their own was dirty has to be wrong. But his orders are simple. Watch the ex and boy to see if they're involved. And when Diego finally sees her he likes what he sees. Harper hasn't trusted a man since Nathans father and look where that got her. Alone and pregnant at 17 with no help. So she takes off and lives her life for Nathan. Never thinking of herself. Until she sees Diego. Never has she been so attracted to someone. And with her best friend pushing her for a little action and with her son gone for 2 weeks the perfect opportunity arises. But as things heat up between them more and more suspicion comes hi pon her and he must see it through. But feelings were never supposed to be involved. And when her worst fears happen and she learns the truth about Diego and his lies will she ever be able to trust anyone ever again??

Diego & Harper meet when he moves in next door to recon her home and family. He learns to love her son. He is incredibly attracted to her. Just one problem - he has to solve her ex as a mystery first. Harper knows she has little time for herself, and even less for sex. When Diego moves in all her nerves come alive and she knows she wants to make time. She just does not want her heart stomped on again. There are so many words to tell you but I do not do spoilers! First - really amazing characters with the development right before your eyes. Second - scene stealer - Her kid is just too fun and really smart. Lastly - a new series by this great author is always an auto buy for me. You will never be disappointed. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Brand new SEAL military romance series with hot hunky men dealing with perilous situations and finding love interests that fit them well. These men are brothers not related by birth but committed to their country and one another. Great beginning - can’t wait for book two! Diego Torres has worked his way up in the Navy to become a SEAL lieutenant leading men to achieve what common men cannot. He is honor bound to his country and team having found as an adult what he was missing as a child. In this book he is sent to keep an eye on Harper Maclean and her son. He finds the time spent watching her difficult as he is a man of action and not one to sit idly watching. As he lives next door and watches he meets first Nathan and then his mother, Harper. They begin to get acquainted and with one thing leading to another Harper and Diego end up horizontal before long. With Diego’s mission focused on finding out which team member treasonously compromised their last mission and whether or not that person might is dead or alive Diego watches and questions and searches to find out all he can from Harper and Nathan BUT in so doing he grows closer to them than he thought he would. Harper is a hoot. She is a successful interior designer, great friend to Andi, wonderful mother to Nathan, able to see what she has come from and where she wants to end up. She has focused her efforts on providing for Nathan and remaking herself and to achieve what she set out to has put her personal life on the back burner for years. Well, that changes when Diego moves in next door. I liked the introduction to the team, the setup for future stories, the character development and the feeling that Poseidon Team is one that is close-knit and dedicated to one another and the mission. Diego was a wonderful book boyfriend and Harper his equal in so many ways. The dilemma they faced, the trust issues that arose, the interactions with one another and with others…all were spot on and wonderful to read. And, with that said, I am more than eager to read the next book in the series as soon as it comes out. Thank you to the author for the ARC. This is my honest review. 4.5 Stars

Highly Entertaining, Action Packed, Emotionally Charged Romantic Adventure Like no other. Wow this SEAL Team has it all, and I for one look forward to getting to know each member better. This Series starter is a very exciting start. Diego with his hard lived past is so stormy and real that you just want to tame the wild man inside. Harper is clever and enchanting very easy to love her son is adorable and just love her friend as well. The whole story of their journey was so riveting that I just could not stop reading.

I've been a fan of Tawny Weber for a long time, but this book? It was AWESOME! In her typical fashion, she puts together a SEAL story with a sexy military guy and an independent, smart woman, but this time deepens the story to include secondary characters and serious suspense. I'm so looking forward to the continuation of this series!

I'm a long time fan of Tawny Weber's books and her sexy SEALs. This was more in depth than some of her other books and I was glued to the screen as I read the whole story. Who needs sleep with a book like this? Loyal, patriots, hot guys, few women can resist. These guys know it too. This team, POSIDEN, is full of guys who fit that bill, however, each is unique in his own way. Diego Torres, team leader, feels the weight of a mission that injured one of his team and another didn't come back. There wasn't enough of him to find. Rule one, no one left behind, was broken. He bears the blame, at least in his own mind. There is more and it puts every team member's loyalty in question. While the team is waiting to be cleared, Diego is ordered to do surveillance of the lost team member's ex-wife and mother of his son. Is it possible the man wasn't dead? Was she involved with his escape and crime? While doing the one thing he didn't think he'd ever be called on as a SEAL, he falls first for the little boy and then his mom. Not that he is willing to admit it. The building relationship is touching in so many ways. There is plenty of steam. Let's just say there is part of his duty none of them are complaining about. This book touches on every good part of reading, great characters, romance, mystery, danger, charm, sexy guy banter, strong women, and alpha males. Book one of this new series is a winner. I have only one problem. Where is the next one? This is my honest review of this advance reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

4.25 stars--CALL TO HONOR is the first installment in Tawny Weber’s contemporary, adult SEAL BROTHERHOOD military, romantic suspense series focusing on a Special Ops SEAL Team known as Poseidon. This is Lieutenant Diego Torres (aka El Gato), and interior designer/ single mother Harper Maclean’s story line. Told from several third person perspectives including Diego and Harper CALL TO HONOR focuses on the Poseidon Team member’s search for the truth. When their latest mission in Afghanistan goes horribly wrong, leaving one member injured and one man missing and presumed dead, the Team comes under suspicion when military secrets are discovered in the hands of the enemy. Enter Diego Torres, the man who has been assigned to ‘watch’ over one of his team member’s ex-lovers-a woman they suspect may be harboring a fugitive or government secrets. What ensues is the building relationship between Diego and Harper; the heartbreak of betrayal; and the Poseidon Team’s determination to prove their innocence when one of their own is the target of the investigation. Harper Maclean is a single mother, an interior designer and a woman who hasn’t seen her son’s father since the day she announced she was pregnant. Brandon Ramsey walked out of her life, entered the military, and refused to accept any responsibility for Harper’s pregnancy. Fast forward to present day and Harper will learn that her son’s father is missing and presumed killed in an explosion in Afghanistan. Diego Torres has been ordered to go undercover to ferret out information about Harper Maclean but Diego never intended to fall in love with the woman and her son. Diego’s life in the military is not conducive to love or a relationship but that doesn’t stop our hero from seducing the woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text. We are introduced to several members of SEAL Team 7 and the Special Ops unit known as Poseidon: Commander Nic Savino, Chief Petty Officer Jared (MacGyver)Lansky, Lieutenant Elijah Prescott, Petty Officer Aaron Ward, and Petty Officer Dane Adams-Brandon Ramsey’s wing man and best friend. Harper’s best friend Andi Stamos is a rich socialite who may or may not have a relationship with Jared Lansky, and Nathan Maclean-Harper’s seven year old son who is wise beyond his years. The world building looks at the fall out of secrets, lies, betrayal and war; the tight-knit brotherhood of Navy SEAL Team Poseidon, and the search for the truth. CALL TO HONOR does not end on a cliff hanger but the investigation is ongoing as more evidence mounts against a man Team Poseidon once called a brother and a friend. CALL TO HONOR is a detailed and complex story of romance and suspense. The premise is intelligent, entertaining and creative; the characters are passionate, spirited and intense; the romance is captivating and sensual. Tawny Weber’s CALL TO HONOR is an exciting and tangible start to her SEAL BROTHERHOOD military, romantic suspense series.

ARC copy for honest review with no compensation, Tawny Weber has done it again with another awesome Navy Seal series…..Call to Honor is the first book and can’t wait for book 2! ! ! Harper Maclean is a beautiful, sexy, determined, successful interior designer and a single mother to Nathan. She has an ex who abandoned her when she became pregnant when she was 18. Diego Torres lives for the Navy, this is all he has known for all his adult life. While on a mission, he had to leave a man behind, which they never do. Once back home, the mission becomes under investigation because it seems top secrets have been sold to the enemy. Diego and his brothers need to figure out who the person on their team is dirty….this leads him to Harper. He needs to figure out if she through her ex has anything to do with it or is she just a alibi …. Diego and Harper are so different but seem to be pulled together under the all the secrecy but will they stay together or will the secrets separate them?? This story has lots of suspense, intrigue, twists, turns and somethings you never expect to happen. Once you start reading you will not put it down until the final word! !

Diego and his team were betrayed by one of their own. One of their own died during a mission and they had to leave him behind. Only later they discover that maybe he didn't die. The only way to see if he was dead or in hiding was to see if he went to his ex and his son. Harper and Nathan have done just fine without her ex in the picture. He never even met his own child. All of a sudden she finds out he is dead. There is a new guy staying next door and he is gorgeous. He is also good with her son. Does she dare get involved with him? She doesn't want any kind of permanent relationship and her son is her priority. But Diego is very tempting. Diego doesn't like lying to Harper, but he has a mission and that has to come first. Even if he finds Harper very tempting.

With a story filled with intrigue and passion, Tawny Weber brings us the start of a new SEAL series! Team Poseidon is the best of the best and make for an interesting bunch of guys. First off we are getting Diego's story ... looking forward to more! Diego Torres has given his life to his Navy SEAL career. He lives for his job and his teammates, so when a mission goes awry and someone is left behind, that doesn't sit well with him! He's settling into a boatload of guilt when intel comes in that leads them to think there is some shady business going down. He's sent in to try to get some information from the only source they have. Harper Maclean has worked hard to overcome her past and give her son a great life. She has done it all on her own, since his so called father walked out before he was born. When a new sexy man shows up as their new neighbor, she can't help but be intrigued. Can she really throw caution to the wind and actually live for herself for once? Will Diego blow his cover when he gets too close to Harper and her son? And when information starts to surface, will he be able to keep them safe?

This was a really great read that I couldn't put down. There is suspense and mystery, as well as growing attraction in a well written story line. The characters are intense, have strength and determinations but also have a vulnerability. Loved this book and look forward to more in this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all opinions expressed are my own.

ARC Review: Call to Honor (A Seal Brotherhood) by Tawny Weber Never slow down. That mantra is the perfect tagline for both author and characters. Ms. Weber holds nothing back with her alpha heroes and the danger in the plot, she adds more fuel to the fire with her equally strong willed heroines. With Call to Honor, she threw me at first. For a man like Diego who struggles with powerful emotions and dangerous enemies, Harper did seem like she fit him. However, as the blinders come off and the secrets start to explode we see a fierce attraction blossom and Tawny Weber at her best. Suspense is the name of the game with this mysterious couple.

I received an advanced copy of Call to Honor in exchange for a review. I have read several other books by Tawny Weber and I have enjoyed them. Call to Honor was worth the time to read. There were hot alpha males, danger, and steam. There was also a SEAL and a SWCC who were not the honorable men you would expect them to be. The reminder that being a special operator does not always make a man a good person kept the story from being too sweet. While I am sure a SEAL would find mistakes in the story, it was clear that Weber has done her homework in researching her subject. Once again, she allowed the story to have depth by focusing on just a few characters. She didn't overload a short novel with a huge cast and too much action. She also gave us a tantalizing set up for a future installment. Those characters are not slated to have a book yet, but one can hope they will soon.

Call to Honor went in a direction I didn't expect, but OMG did I enjoy every minute of it! Diego and Harper are absolutely fantastic together, and when you throw in Harper's seven-year-old son Nathan? Pure magic. Seriously. I loved these three with an intensity that shouldn't be possible in a 300+ page book, but there you have it. They have to show up in later series books, because I am not at all ready to say goodbye to them! There's a secondary thing going on between Harper's BFF Andi and Diego's teammate Jared here that has to get its own book (sadly, it's not book two, Call to Engage ; I'm holding out hope for #3 in the series) and the entire situation that Diego's team was trying to resolve in this book isn't finalized either--as if I needed more reasons to be first in line for the rest of the books in this series. Can't wait! Rating: 4 stars / A- I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book via Netgalley. A mission goes wrong for the Poseidon SEAL team and one of their own is lost. The team then come under investigation for treason. Diego is sent to watch and learn about Harper, ex-girlfriend to the missing man. To see if she holds the secrets of the missing man and the treason charge. Harper has but ONE secret: that of her son, Nathan. And when he goes missing from camp, the full force of the team that is Poseidon land in Harper's house. You know how I hate not being able to word what I want to say? This book, right here. All I'm left with is nice. And NICE really isn't the right word but for the life of me, I can't find that bloody word!! It's well written, from both Diego and Harper's point of view. Nathan also gets a little bit of a voice, and I loved that. Brave little man, that Nathan. It's sexy in places and it's deadly in others. While Diego, Harper and Nathan get their happy ever after, the treason story line and that of the missing man is left unfinished. It lays the way for another team member's story, but that doesn't come next. Kinda knocked me for a loop, that one! I loved how Diego discovered things as suspicious, and on the surface, they really could have been, but they were written away in a highly believable way. Someone trying to keep a secret takes things a little too far! I loved Andi, Harper's best friend, and the part she plays keeping Harper grounded. Will I read future books in this series?? I hope to get the chance. I like the way Weber spins her tales, how she intertwines everyone and everything. I wrote 4 stars at the top of the page (why yes, I do actually write them on paper before typing them up!) and I am gonna stick to it. Had I been able to find the right bloody word, another word other than NICE, I might have upgraded it but since I can't find the word.... 4 solid stars **same worded review will appear on: Goodreads, Booklikes, Mills and Boon UK, Netgalley, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble**

Call to Honor is a solid read, detailing the story of Harper, Nathan, and Diego. Harper and Nathan are mother and son, Diego is the Navy SEAL/Poseidon trying to clear his team's (and his own) name. Sent to watch a team member's ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, Diego gets more than he bargained for with Harper and Nathan. Harper has pulled herself up by her bootstraps, and made a good life for herself and her son. Nathan is a total dude, brave, fearless, and opinionated about heroes, which I quite agree with. Call to Honor is a long story which delves into treason, betrayal, Cayman Island bank accounts, plus much more. Both funny and hot, it also has plenty of action. The main characters' story is mostly told, with a HFN ending. There are plenty of others to choose from for the rest of the series, although it is Prescott's turn next. Well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this was an enjoyable story. It just seemed so long, and I don't know why. I can't think of any gaps where nothing happened, but it just seemed to last for a long time. So, for that reason, definitely recommended if you want a Summer beach read to last a fortnight! Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Call to Honor is the explosive beginning to Tawny Weber's new series, SEAL Brotherhood, which follows the elite Poseidon team. Diego Torres couldn't imagine being anything other than a SEAL. When he made the decision to rise above a life of gangs and violence, he made a commitment. It's unthinkable that a fellow SEAL would betray his own, but when Brandon Ramsey is killed in action, and his body isn't found, Poseidon is put under investigation. Diego and Jared Lansky are ordered by their team leader to quietly investigate the matter of Brandon's death. Could he really have betrayed the team to sell classified information? Was he working alone? Diego is positioned next door to Brandon's former girlfriend and mother of his child. If he's still alive he might run to her for safety. Harper Maclean puts all her energy into taking care of her son, Nathan, and distancing herself from Brandon's abandonment. When Harper and Diego meet sparks fly and romance takes over the plot. I really loved reading Call to Honor. Tawny Weber is a talented author who knows how to engage her readers and keep them hooked throughout the novel. It was a little hard reading at the beginning, however, because she introduces quite a few characters from the SEAL teams. It took me a few passes over certain scenes to understand who was talking or where someone was directing their glare. Despite the confusing opening scenes, though, I wanted to race through the story to the end. Diego and Harper were so good together. You can't read their story and miss the connection. I have no doubt the rest of the SEAL Brotherhood series will be just as fascinating as Call to Honor! *eARC provided in exchange for an honest review*

Harper Maclean was left pregnant and alone at 17. Her entire life revolves around her son Nathan. Diego Torres is an SEAL through and through and part of an elite team called Poseidon. After a mission fail and a member of their team lost it, Diego’s team is now being investigated for selling secrets. Evidence is leading to the lost team member being the traitor. Jared Ramsey loved to brag about his ex-wife and his son. Diego is ordered under cover to investigate Ramsey’s ex-wife to see if he has been in contact with her. It became clear to Diego right away that Ramsey lied about most of the details of his life. Neither Diego nor Harper want a relationship but maybe each other is just what they need. When Nathan is kidnapped it is up to Diego and his team to find him and return Nathan to his mother and to convince her that he is worth the risk for more. So can’t wait for more!!!
