    Mindless Divel

    This book was by far the WORST piece of romantic fiction I have ever come across. The characters were trite and unoriginal, and frankly I did not care for either one of them. A convict (regardless of whether he is innocent or not) that impregnates the town prostitute is not my idea of a 'charming' or romantic hero. He spends 90% of the book wanting to merely conquer Callie's virginity, that I found it hard to believe he was 'in love' with her by the end. Heidi Betts writing style is juvenile at best, and irksome to read. The dialog is populated mainly by circular arguments (i.e. 'he's my baby!' 'no, mine!' 'no, mine!' 'no, mine!', etc.) I also have very little respect for an author that relies on such BLATANT plot conveniences (a gold mine?) to create a 'happy ending'. Please do not waste your time nor money on this frivilous romp though western history. If you want a western romance, invest in Joan Johnston.

    Fabulous Western Historical!

    Wade Mason escapes the Pententiary to search for his infant son he has never seen. When he finds him,Wade gets more than he bargained for. Callie Quinn has been left in charge of his son and she is not about to reliquish him. Not only is Wade a criminal,but she has come to love the boy as her own. In time the two form a fragile truce that is evolving into something much more. Callie is realizing that what you think you see isn't always the truth and she must stand by and fight for those she loves.Wade and Callie take you on a wild ride that leave tears in your eyes and a warm feeling in your heart. Heidi Betts captivates her readers with this non stop read!

    The proof is in the reading

    If you loved the cover on this one, wait until you read what is inside...One man, Wade, innocent of the charges that imprisoned him. A woman, who had his child and died, saying nothing yet knowing he was innocent. And Callie, the woman who cares for and loves the child. She knows who the father is, but has never met him. Shocked when he enters and catches her in the tub, she doesn't know what to believe. I can and will tell you this: If you think the cover is tempting, the story inside will take you soaring. Callie's love for the child, her struggle to believe in Wade, and the adventure they face while falling in love will carry you even beyond the cover. I loved it!
