This novel was a breath of fresh air. I like a little innovation in my authors-of-choice, somebody who tries something new and different instead of rehashing the old formulas. McGowan is an innovator, and he makes it work, page after page. I larfed, I bawled, I thunk. Great fun.

A friend recommended this book for my book club and it simply blew us away. One of the club members made a great point: we've read hilarious books and thought-provoking books in the three years we've been meeting, but never before one that achieved both goals so well. It made me re-examine so much about the way I come to my own conclusions about the world, and it did it while I was doubled over laughing. I certainly hope another Mcgowan book is on the way.

This book should be at the top of the best seller list.

This book is not only fun to read (I actually laughed out loud a number of times), but it really makes you think, and not about anything less trivial than the meaning of life, the origins of the universe, and the ignorance of the masses. McGowan¿s character names never ceased to make me smile (Robert Frapples was one of my favorites) and the dialog was very convincing. At some points I really felt as though I was sitting in a college bar with the author debating the intricacies of Faith vs. Reason over a pitcher of beer. Ultimately I felt both entertained and educated. This is a great book for anyone not afraid to think for themselves.

No,I don't mean the book is about time. I mean it's about time that such a talented and intelligent new author came in to our literary lives. This fine novel is as daring as it is original, and will satisfy the reader on more levels I care to describe. Mr. McGowan's style is fast, furious, and funny as hell. He covers so many topics so brilliantly that the reader will walk away feeling informed, challenged, and ultimately rewarded. The character of Scott Siberell is as frightening and exciting as any in years! I have already waited too long for his next book. Bravo Mr. McGowan! Write on!
