Editorial Reviews

The Reading Tub
“The colorful illustrations and interactive rhymes encourage "hands-on" reading.”
Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
There must be a need to instruct today's parents regarding interaction with their babies. Perhaps it is due to the lack of extended families living nearby which was once the norm. This entry in the "Baby Gym" series presents rhymes for parents to say to their babies, accompanied by instructions and illustrations that further demonstrate the suggested actions they should make while doing so. Some more familiar rhymes, such as "Hush Little Baby," offer caregivers instructions as to actions to accompany the words. In addition to the various ethnicities of the babies, there is even a set of twins. The notes suggest action and movement; additional guidance and cautions are provided at the bottom of each page. The author urges parents to find some quiet time during even busy days to bond with the new baby. A useful board book for first-time parents. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
