I couldn't get over what the caloric counts were on so many foods. This book has made me rethink what I chose for my snacks, meals and restaurants. To see that you are consuming 2400 calories at Outback with their cheesy fries (an appetizer!) was startling, let alone the "healthy choices" so many restaurants offer. The book is clear, informative and a convenient size to put in your purse before heading out to the grocery store or your favorite place to eat-out.

I really enjoyed The Calorie King Calorie, Fat and Carbohydrate counter. It is small enough to fit into your purse or other bag and its handy when dining out. There are a lot of restaurants listed in this book, however it doesn't list many food choices. It seems like only the most popular foods are listed. Overall though, I would recommend this book to anyone.

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and need to watch my carbs very closely. I love this book as it is up to date with the latest restaurants menus and what you can purchase at your favorite supermarket. It is small and you can carry it with you so that you can look up the carbs of anything you want to eat to make sure that you aren't going over your carb intake. I recommend it for anyone who is watching their fat and carb intake.

This book is one of the easiest to use calorie counters I have found. It is clear, easy to read and color coded. It does not have everything I am looking for, but it comes very very close. I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I have recently "lost" a great deal of weight by limiting sugars, fats and carbs. This handbook is valuable in helping us make choices between foods AND the fast-food and Restaurant guides are terrific. We usually check online for the restaurant's menu.Using the two resources helps us make our decisions. Some of the food nutritional values might surprise you, they did us. It helps us plan eating out with friends and not just eating salads! We took ours to the printer and had it wire bound. So, I stick it in my purse and take it as a reference. Very inexpensive. Great information. It is NOT as comprehensive as another one that I have seen, but it is adequate and pocket-size. ENJOY!

Being put on an insulin pump, and having to count all carbs that I consume, I find that this book is very helpful and valuable to any diabetic.

I first read this book at my local library then decided to buy it. I also bought a copy for my daughter and grandchildren. Weight loss/maintaining a healthy weight is not easy but this book helps people make better food choices and why. It is not only a "calorie counter" but provides dietary information as well as simple menu planning. It also provides information on many fast food chains so if you are eating there, a better choice can be made. In fact, that is a good theme for the book-making better choices which is always beneficial in all aspects of life

Big surprise. I often use frozen dinners. Mostly I pick the diet type. My eyes opened real wide when I found out, for example, that Swanson's Fried Chicken Dinner had fewer calories than very many of the brands that claim to be good for dieters.

This book is the by far the best book for anyone wanting to lose weight and doesn't want to read a lengthy chapter book. It laid everything out and was straight to the point, he tells you exactly how many calories, carbs, and fat to eat. I lost 30 pounds just from following his advice and I have kept it off for 3 years now. The fast food section is amazing as well and quite sobering! I highy recommend this to anyone who just wants to lose weight the good old fashion way and doesn't have time to read a huge diet book!
