Overview

"Most people who write comic dialogue for minors demonstrate surprisingly little feel for - or faith in - the original source material, that is, childhood, in all its unfettered and winsome glory. It is in this respect that Bill Watterson has proved as unsusal as his feckless creations, Calvin and Hobbes. Watterson is the reporter who's gotten it right; childhood as it actually is." - Garry Trudeau, from the Foreword

    World's Greatest Comic Strip

One of the most imaginitive, heart-warming comic strips of all time.It will touch the heart and mind of every person to come across its' pages. It captures something other strips have yet to by showing what it truly means to have an imagination, sense of humor, and a real vocabulary.

OMG! i love love love LOVE this book! i mean who doesnt love comic books? my favorite comics are the ones where calvin and susie are playing "house" or "doctor" an they look all grown up but then they have a fight over something silly an go back to being kids again. And how can such a smart kid do such dumb stuff? ive read every calvin and hobbes book an they are so good. Im sure you will like this one as much as i did!

    Calvin and Hobbes Sunday Pages

The imagination of the main character Calvin, is typical of most of the boys I know in his age group. Who wouldn't want a giant, stuffed, talking tiger for a closer-than-a-brother, friend. I would recommend this book to young children who want to have as much fun as possible before growing up.

    A very good addition

This is a very good gift to recieve. My wife bought it for me for our first anniversary because she knew I was a fan of this particular comic strip. It gives insight into each individual strip that Bill Watterson wrote, and many times the little notes her wrote are as funny as the strip itself. Another thing I enjoyed about this book was how he brought various works together from many of his different books. It makes it very enjoyable.

    Timeless

This was purchased as a gift for my 40 year old son for Christmas along with two other Calvin & Hobbs collections. He was tickled with the gift as an avid Calvin and Hobbs fan for years and his twin sons were already asking him to read them new stories.

An insightful look into the creation of a classic comic strip

I thoroughly enjoyed this Tenth Anniversary Edition of the Calvin and Hobbes series. Bill Watterson provides invaluable insight into his creative process and his struggle to maintain the integrity of his strip. He explains who the characters were to him and picks strips that show the multiple-dimensions of the characters. This book made saying goodbye to Calvin and Hobbes a bit easier, because with the help of his narration I realized how Watterson fully packed the life of the strip with quality and depth.

    Best comics ever!

Calvin and Hobbes has such incredible imagination, humor, and wit that no other comic can ever compare to it. I have never laughed so much!

    Wow!

I remember it was approaching Christmas 1987, and I bought this book as a present for my brother Greg. When I first bought it I read the whole thing over and over again until I could memorize it. Yeah, it was painful having to part with the book at Christmas time, but the first thing I got with my Christmas money was to...you guessed it! I went out and bought this book and devoured it! I would bring this book to school with me every day and read it during lunchtime! My 9-year old niece, Kaitlin, Greg's little girl is starting to read these now. Excellent first book!

Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic on Earth

I just got this book, and believe me, it's so good, you'll finish it in no time at all. This is my favorite Calvin and Hobbes book. It's packed with some of the greatest comics written by Mr. Watterson.

    Horrible

This book must've been the worst Calvin and Hobbes book yet. It seemed like it was poorly put together and was just overall HORRIBLE!!!

Calvin and Hobbes is possibly the funniest comic series in the world! I absolutely love them! My favourite book is the tenth anniversary. I love Scientific Progress goes Boink! probably anyone who has ever read Calvin and Hobbes would agree with me that the pair are positively hilarious!
