    Alexander the Greatest of the Great

    arrian's account of alexander is superbe. what amazed me most was the very first pages' discussion of alexander's military activites in the danube. it was sort of the prelude to his legendary encounter with porus in india. in addition to the estensive description of alexander's battles and doings, alexander is portrayed as a lively figure with quotes that actually attests to his rhetorical skill and strong will. generally it is considered the most reliable ancient source on alexander's life. it is much better than plutarch who i think merely wrote a couple of trivial anecdotes. also better curtius whose writing style i completely disliked. also enjoyable is the documentary by michael wood.

    Marvelous epic book.

    With a rating from one to 100... I give it 101! Excellent represantation of a general who lived very close to Alexander's era, had more information available in his hands, and managed to collect all the puzzle pieces successfully creating a terrific masterpiece. Great job, for all Alexander fans, I definitely recommend it.
