Back in 2003, I was diagnosed with Bipolar I, Rapid Cycle Mixed. I was able to conquer it and get off of all of my medications (with the guidance of my psychiatrist) through the use of various Chinese herbs and other supplements such as DLPA, Acetyl L-Carnitine, GABA, and 5HTP, among other supplements. * These helped me to bring balance to my neurotransmitters, Dopamine, Acetylcholine, GABA and Serotonin respectively. I stayed with this regimen for years. I didn't feel any symptoms of bipolar for over 12 years and then it resurfaced in 2015. That same year I was diagnosed schizoaffective. Schizoaffective – it is a dual diagnosis: schizophrenia and bipolar at the same time. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia because I hear voices.
In my experience, these voices are as real as the sky is blue and not simply imagined or a hallucination. They are spirits or disembodied souls; however, you want to describe them.
Even if you don't hear voices or do not have bipolar, this book can help you to be compassionate for those that do.
