With the predictions of doom regarding December 21 2012, I began to think about the impact that a large-scale catastrophic event would have upon the inhabitants of planet Earth.
Much has been written about the heroic struggles of those who are left behind after such an event, they feature strongly in movies and novels about asteroid strikes, zombie hordes etc. However, very few of these epic sagas seem to describe in detail the day-to-day and long-term reality of dealing with the specific changes that will take place after a cataclysm, and the process of restoring a technological society.
How well would you be able to cope with a massive, long-term upheaval to your current lifestyle, where you currently rely on modern technology and an established society to provide the essentials and luxuries that you take for granted every day?
This book examines the problems and basic needs that would arise from a global apocalypse, and asks, what could you do to survive, equip and assist in the rebuilding of mankind's infrastructure? While libraries and the Internet are still avilable, you may want to begin researching the answers to these questions.
