Cancer is a condition many people live with. Find out what life is like for some who have cancer.
School Library JournalGr 1-3-These books have an admirable concept but fail miserably in their execution. There isn't a lot of room for solid information and much of the text runs along the lines of this sentence: "People in wheelchairs enjoy many of the same things as everyone else." The photos are colorful, especially the six-inch-square close-up of a skin cancer. Considering the intended audience, it seems an odd choice, especially since the rest of the photos are of blood cells, salad, and kids on swings. There isn't much out there for this age group on these topics, but it would be best to wait until something worthwhile comes along, because these titles are just too, too spare.-Christine A.
