Candice Olson is one of the top interior designers in North America. Her signature style incorporates creativity, practicality, and timelessness to create sophisticated yet accessible designs. On Divine Design, Candice invites viewers into the lives of homeowners undertaking a dramatic space renovation for an upcoming event. She confidently guides them through the complicated process—including knocking down walls and building rooms from scratch while sharing her incomparable knowledge of the latest trends in domestic style. Candice's expertise is firmly grounded in hands-on experience: Candice's personal redesign and renovation of a derelict urban house won Canadian House and Home magazine's annual design contest in 1994. Multitalented and energetic, Candice toured the world as a member of the Canadian national volleyball team while also earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary. She then moved to Toronto to attend the School of Design at Ryerson University. After graduation she was a much-sought talent.     The subtitle says it all: "Inspiration and Ideas"

    Their was nothing substantive in this book.
    I was looking for a few how-to suggestions.
    I have seen her show. I guess that I thought their would be more information about executing the inspiration and ideas.
    I actually returned the book.

    Full of inspiring ideas, but would like a few more

    Now that it is 2010 and Candice Olson has been more and more popular on TV, I'm sure many people are looking for books that show the best of her designs. I'm definitely seeking 2010 version of the same book with more of her recent designs. I'd like to see shots from viewers favorite rooms she completed on the show and additional ones as well. This 2006 book has many inspiring ideas with rooms across the home (not just kitchens or bedrooms, etc.). I love the full color photographs and the before and after shots. They demonstrate what can be done with a little hard work and creativity to a run-down room. Don't expect to be told exact colors and where she purchased the room decor. This is an idea book that shows you the types of choices you can make for a particular desired effect. Good book- just want a little more.

    GREAT DESIGN BOOK

    This is a great design book for the novice home designer. This book is an excellent guide to provide a warm and inviting environment for your home. Great ideas for kitchen design and using modular cabinets brought from a cabinet manufacturer/distributor can create an amazing kitchen at a fraction of the cost.

    Best Design Book

    This was the most interesting and informative design book that I have ever read, and I read design books all of the time. Her designs are gorgeous and so livable. She really wants her customers to love their homes when she is finished.

    Fun!

    It was a great book! I remodeled 6 bedrooms, my whole basment and my kitchen.i did a little with my spa busniess. It helped me alot. like to pick colors and stuff.(My designer helped me)

    Great Book!

    I'm probably a little biased because I'm already a fan of Ms Olson's, but I love this book. Its fun, witty, and has a lot of information and helpful tips. The magazine quality pictures are really beautiful as well: befores and afters, closeups - everything you would expect from Candice and more. Highly recommended.
