Fantastic Book for the Novice ShutterBug

When I shopped for my camera (the XTi) I put in countless hours online and in the bookstore researching all of the different options, weighing advantages, disadvantages, and the like. When I had finally received my XTi I could help but thing, "now what". As this was my first introduction to SLRs I was overwhelmed by options, acronyms and terms. When I purchased this book I enjoyed that not only are the concepts taught thoroughly and clearly, but the fact that the book is written for my camera made the concepts that much easier to grasp.

This book has been my savior for over a year now and what I have learned from it has helped immensely with both my photography and my wife's as well. We even did a little photography as wedding gift for some friends a few weeks back. I highly recommend this book (and any in the series that matches your camera).

    Tons of help!

I ordered this book as soon as it was available. I just got the XTi Canon for Christmas and I cannot begin to explain how great this book is. Full color pictures with vivid detail for every step of the operation of this camera. I am one of those people who know how to do most pictures in the point and shoot, full auto mode. This book provides tons of tips for this but the best part is that this book is teaching me about all the 'other' things this camera can do. I wanted to learn about ISO and F stops and white balance etc. and why I would ever change them. Tons of examples and instructions have set me on my way to be a better photographer. Anyone who has this camera is sorely missing out on the true power and capabilities at your fingertips by not getting this book! I am still reading, re-reading and still learning. I want to be able to take action shots of my grandchildren playing sports and my husband racing his motorcycle. I want to be able to take portraits of all the babies in the family. And I want to do those incredible nature pictures that you only see on postcards. I have everything I need in this book to teach me! Debbie
