Overview

Collecting some of the mellowest moods from rumba's most raging romantics, CANTOS DE AMOR makes a seamless, swoon-worthy journey of the Kings' often overlooked soft side. There's the jaunty flamenco version of "My Way" ("A Mi Manera") from their first album, the desolate "Triste Pena," from MOSAIQUE, and a smattering of tunes from TIERRA GITANA, the Kings' most sophisticated outing to date. With 15 tracks of soulful guitar plucking and wounded Gipsy wail, CANTOS DE AMOR insures that your life won't lack for romance.

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Thom Owens
Cantos de Amor is a lovely collection of love ballads, both original and traditional, as performed by the Gipsy Kings. Even though they have performed love songs throughout the years (in fact, they have been collected on a love song compilation), the band has never before devoted themselves to simply love songs -- they've barely done a concept album, actually -- and the results are terrific. It's a focused, consistent album that is warm, seductive, and romantic, delivering everything that longtime followers could want from a record called Cantos de Amor.
