although I have journeyed away from hip-hop, I still love it to the core coming up during its infantile stages back in the day, and if I can ever give opinions regarding the greatest MC's of All-Time....PUN is one of the most lyrically gifted flow-ers of All-Time. You must understand that I am a Big "RAKIM" guy as well as a Big Daddy Kane, Black Thought (Roots), Biggie, Pac, Nas, Jay-Z guy when it comes to flow, substance, beats, etc. and I must say that I think Pun could have easily held his ground with these giants. It is a shame that we will never know how great this dude could have been

Even though Big Pun didn't make as many records as Tupac but, he would of been just as good or even better than Tupac or Biggie.

PUN's had the auro of flow, delivery, lyrics, and breath control that rapper's envied. You can see it on this album. One of the best debuts in hiphop history from one the greatest to ever do it on the mic. You can see in the lyrics, that this man put's forth maximum effort, cuz bar, verse, and song is lyrically packed. Songs like 'Beware' to 'You Aint A Killer' to the storytelling of 'Fast Money' will make anyone's jaw drop. GREAT ALBUM! R.I.P

Big Punisher's debut album, Capital Punishment, established him as one of the stronger New York natives working hardcore territory toward the end of the '90s. He's a terrific lyricist with microphone technique to spare, and actually rhymes faster than his clear influence, the Notorious B.I.G.. He's also quite versatile, aiming for the dance clubs, the ladies, the hip-hop purists, and the mean streets at varying points on the album, and connecting with all of them pretty well. Similarly, the production -- by a cast of many -- is tough and funky, paced by deep street beats, but remains accessible to audiences outside the hardcore faithful. The close cousins "I'm Not a Player" ...
